PLU ELMSN 2016

Published

Greetings!

I recently came across a very helpful thread on allnurses regarding last year's applications to the ELMSN program and thought I would try to get some dialogue going for those applying for the program starting in June 2016.

I took the GRE earlier this week and am wrapping up my applications (PLU, Seattle U, etc) now. I would be happy to answer any questions about my experiences throughout the application process, but mostly I thought this would be a great space to encourage and motivate one another!

I'm a non-traditional student and former finance professional making one of the most exciting transitions into healthcare. I'm also a current PLU student so I'm familiar with the campus, which is beautiful by the way (if some of you aren't and were curious).

If you have questions, ask away. If you have answers, we'd love to hear them. Or, if you just want to pop in and introduce yourself, we'd love that too!

Good luck everyone!

I called the school of nursing and they said we'll find out about admissions beginning of march-middle of march...didn't give me specific dates

aww.. Looks like the timeline is a bit later than expected compared to when I called them last. But, hopefully it'll follow last year's timeline more rather than mid-March. Thanks for calling roxxykel! Last year everyone seemed to have heard back by the end of February, so hopefully we will too! :)

What's weird to me is that they don't seem to look at applications until the final deadline. I'm wondering how much the priority deadline actually helps if they're waiting until they get all the applications (after Jan 15) to start viewing them. I would've thought that if you turned in your application by the priority deadline, then you would hear back earlier...

could it be that priority deadline applications are considered first? and if the spots are not filled, they move onto the rest of the applications...i thought that's how it worked from when i spoke to them back in november

I just got a call congratulating me so looks like decisions are going out earlier than we thought!

Have all the calls been made?

no clue, sorry I didn't ask! I was in the library when they called

ahopefulNP, What's your top choice for grad school?

I only applied to PLU and SU this year, but PLU was my top choice.

I don't know atm. I applied to 6 total schools and have been accepted to two and rejected by one. And have had or will have interviews with the other three

What other school did you get accepted by?

It's a little odd how inactive this board is though. There were over 100 posts last year, but barely this year... :(
