Anyone applying to PLU this year? I'm also applying to UW in Seattle, will be my 1st time applying to PLU, anyone have any tips or advice? Not sure how the application process for them works.
About a hundred. I asked that too. Here's the email exchange below:

Hi,
I was just wondering if you'd be able to tell me how many people applied this year. Will it be February at the earliest before letters start going out?
Best,
Me

From PLU,
Thanks for your continued interest. We normally have about 100 applications per year, and this year is no exception. You will receive some kind of decision letter by the end of April.

PLU
Thanks you guys for posting all this information. I too applied for the ELMSN program and am anxiously waiting to here back from PLU. The email I got from someone in admissions is that applications are reviewed on a rolling basis typically between January and April. It seems like a pretty big window. From the what I am beginning to gather I don't think that anyone will here back until the beginning to mid February.
I think my firs choice would be plu bc it's right next to the base where my kids go to daycare/kindergarten. It would work out perfectly, just need to figure out if I can afford to get out lol. I am going to look into the reserves too & may try to go back in to get my commission but they're only accepting nurses with two years experience right now. Competition for new grad slots is extremely fierce but I would hope I would be better qual'd since I'm prior enlisted
Prior enlisted won't help, they are cutting back HARD. ROTC is the best way to gain a nursing commission but there is an age limit of 31ish by graduation for scholarships.
I submitted mine online, but I also received a hard copy from my info session in October. I could have filled it in by hand but I had already started the process online so I just kept it that way.
Did you already submit it? They are pretty friendly in admissions (if you don't bug them as much as I do, ha...) so you could write or call and ask.
I figured, I'm looking at what the reserves & guard have to offer so I at least still have points going towards my retirement, I just hate I can't touch that til I'm 60.Anichka, what do you do in the reserves?
I am in the reserves and work with recruiters, it's just as bad as active...National Guard has very few nurses (Literally a couple). Reserves has all the medical assets. This is the worst time to join up unfortunately, wars winding down=0 slots. Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I don't want you to waste your time. In a few years maybe it will get better, it's the military everything is cyclical.

Ya know, there is a link for check application status but not sure if they update it since it hasn't changed since I submitted my application.
Gosh that's crazy they're usually very friendly in their emails! I was expecting it to be any day now too. I also saw that people received their acceptance starting at the end of January in previous year's posts so I was also hopeful to hear soon but end of April seems soooooo far out!!!!! Let's hope for sooner notification if applied in November!
Dont read too much into the email - I'm sure they're just trying to give a generic answer to everyone asking that question. Wonder how many applications they received this year! Hmm...
