Please someone help me understand this

Hi all AN , i got my cgfns report today, for 1 state i got comparable to BSN nurse however for another state i got a 1st level general nurse , which i know that i must of fell short in hours so checked my report, i was short of 2 hours in peads theory only i had more than double the requirement needed for the clinical and 14 hours short in theory on for psych nursing however i had 4x the amount needed for the clinical, i could not understand this as i had done a lot of hours in mental health, however my college put 120 hours under "mental health concepts" as i covered heaps as they were confused what to put it under? So cgfns stated thats completely different to the theory of mental health nursing/psych? And i asked how and they said , mental health psych covers dementia and i said i have that , one programme was stated a higher dementia that was awarded 40 hours and the rest was schizophrenia, bipolar and depression which was 40 hours each! Well they looked at my stuff and said oh yes we can see that , they put the hours in the wrong box? So i said what can you do, and they said i have to pay $250 for an evaluation and get the college to state they put it in the wrong box? Am dumbfounded! They would not tell me what mental health concepts were either! Does anyone on here know? I have searched the internet and it says mental health nursing? Please help anyone !! I would be grateful for any advice

I'm not too sure about this shouldn't you need to do the cgfns certification program if your a 1st level general nurse? Yeah just wait on what the board will say. I hope they consider it.

No their cgfns cert is only for certain states , what did you get comparable to? I think most get comparable to a 1st level general nurse i think ?

Sorry meant to say 1st level registered general nurse

No I got "Comparable to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in the United States". I didn't take the NLE in the Philippines so I'm not licensed there. What's your next step?

Oh i see what you mean , you never licenced in the phillipines , so not practicing at present. Are you living in the US ? And just waiting to sit the nclex . Well am working full time , and doing a masters so its hard , then there is sorting all this out and squeezing in time to study for my nclex!! Plus the names if drugs are different , so learning that like metformin is glucophage.

Ps i found out that cgfns dont get notification if we get approved , it the BON that lets us know, its such a complicated process but am learning lol

Lol yeah it is pretty complicated at times but it makes it all worth it in the end, it really feels good when you accomplish something yourself and some help here on AN. Yeah I am actually living in California, I just went to college in the Philippines. BoN haven't notified me though if I am able to sit for NCLEX, but I checked the application status online and all they're waiting for is the background check from Morphotrust. The trade names are different, I am having a hard time as well as I learned trade names at the Philippines. I am reviewing them at the moment before I go into full review mode to make me somehow familiar. I always scan through my med cards when I encounter questions with just trade names. I have a few list if you want a copy I could email it to you if your interested.
