Thanks for those links to the accredited schools. I'm checking out schools for myself, and am skeptical about the online schools that hit my mailbox. Which ones are real...which ones are not...you know the headache. :nurse:

Hi i'm a newbie at this forum. First i wanna thank those people who have built this site and those active users who keeps on feeding us infos about nursing. This site is very helpful and informative.

Well then, i just wanna know if there's anyone in here that has info or idea about the Metropolitan Hospital College of Nursing at Manila, Philippines? I am planning to take up nursing there as a 2nd courser and I've seen at the net or other nursing forums good feedbacks about this school. so please if you know anything kindly drop me a mail at [email protected]

thanks in advance!

cheers

Hi , i'm also a new member in the all nurses .com . It's really great that we can have something like this to be able to communicate with all the other nurses all over the world . Thanks Brian adn everyone . You guys are awsome !!! Regarding the accredicted schools ,hmm, it's hard to tell isn't it . I guess we just have to email accrediting bodies of that country where the Institution is located then ask them .

My advice would be that please do not start paying fees until you are really sure about the Institution if they are accredited ......

Cheers

I live in the Chicago burbs' can anyone on this forum tell me about Chamberlain? It's a new school that Devry owns and I don't know anything about them. It looks as if the school is accredited but I am nervous about seeking a degree from somewhere that doesn't have a history. Is anyone enrolled at Chamberlain? I currently am trying to get into Triton College's program but it's taking forever and Chamberlain is closer to my home.

Any info would be great!

hello am anew member in all nurse and i will thank p_rn for this links

i think it will be useful

thank you

Thank you for those links! I was going to go to one college and through those links I found out they were not accredited. You saved me a lot of time and hassle. I am going somewhere else that I know is accredited. Thanks so much!

Are there any online school that offer the accredition that is required? I am so confused. I have an associates degree in Secetrial Science/Medial..would I need to start all over? Any information on how to get started I would soooo appreciate. I have two children and am trying to do something online that would not require out of the house studies.

Thank you!

Please do your research. I believe Chamberlain is the former Deaconess College Nursing program. They say they are accredited by the "Higher Learning Commission" http://www.ncahlc.org/index.php?option=com_directory&Itemid=192&Action=ShowBasic&instid=2022

Right - and this begs the question "What is the Higher Learning Commission?"

BSN programs are accredited by the the organizations linked in the OP.

A poster asked about accreditation in the Philippines. I would suggest that she or he check with a nursing professional organization in the Phil and find out about accreditation there. Also the WHO accredits health professions schools around the world. I doubt, however, that WHO standards are as stringent as many national standards.

This is an important question to ask before one spends money on an education.

Thanks very much for the information P_RN. I am new to allnurses. I think it's great to get views of so many nurses on all the issues we face everyday.

Regards to Brian & all the active members.

I was wondering, a friend of mine has been working as an EMT prior to that she was a Naval Corpsman for 4 years. She said that she does not have to take an LVN course, according to her she said all she has to do is challenge the LVN Board. Is that correct? Thanks in advance.

I am wondering if someone can help me. I earned an associates degree from Denver School of Nursing. They told me it was acredited. However, they are acredited by the CCHE-colorado commission on higher education. which means they can award associates degrees. I have been rejected by most schools in colorado. they only school willing to accept me is university of phoenix. to finish my BSN, I would have to pay $36,000 over the next 13 months. the only nice part about the program is, it is totally online. Is there any hope for me? What about CLEP? can I CLEP some of my non-transferable classes?

A word of advice:

DO YOUR HOMEWORK. research NLN or CCNE.
