I am currently getting a degree in BA in psychology, but I also want to do nursing. Does anyone have any advice as to what would be the fastest way i could incorporate the two? Thank you very much.

I am sorry I don't have any advice for you other than making an RN degree a second major.
I have a similar problem... I am currently waiting for my clinical classes for my RN degree and would like to know what classes I should take if I want to be a psychiatric nurse.
Any suggestions?

Do what I did..apply to a post-baccalaureate accelerated BSN program. My program was 13 months long. It was challenging but certainly do-able. Good luck!

There aren't any "extra" classes one needs to take to go into psychiatric nursing. Any nursing program that qualifies you for licensure will provide the entry-level education needed.

I have my BA in Psych at the moment and am going back for my BSN which will take about 2 years for me...I would have liked to find a program around where I'm at that was only 13 months, but couldn't. I don't reccommend doing it the way I am, because I'm waisting a lot of time in between. I spent two years inbetween my BA and starting my BSN just working...and I feel like I'm treading water. It took a good year to go through the process of applying to different programs, testing, and figuring out what fits your life best. GOOD LUCK!

I have my BA in Psych and after 5 yrs of volunteering in several substance abuse facilities realize that it is the nursing side of the house that I would like to be on. Do I go for my RN at a community college, or do I try to find and get another Bachelors degree, this time in nursing? Can a licensed RN apply for jobs asking for a Bachelors in Nursing with 1-2 yrs pysch experience? What is a 2nd degree BSN and how is it different from an RN with a BA in Psych?
