Good evening!
I applied for the Spring 08 class at CAC. I was told about 50-60 applied and they took in about 30 (if that). I have already done my interview. What held me back was that I talked to the Dean and at the time of my interview I had not taken my CNA test or been certified and we were afraid I would not have it in time for clinicals.
Anyhoo. Anyone who was interviewed and did not get in for SPring, is offered a place in the Fall program. I am not sure how many qualified and no room was available for Spring that will be taking up space in the Fall. You can call Christy up and she should be able to answer questions as well.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Thank you very much. I have emailed christy but havent heard back yet.... Do you k now how the point system is broken down. I board fro my cna next weekend , other than that i have everything else done. I am worried about my gpa. I have one bad semester that hurt my gpa and now i am afraid it will haunt me. Does the interview count towards your points? what is the interview about?
thank you again
Nicole
I do not know how the point system works. From what I have "heard" or "read" you get so many points for your GPA, being a Pinal County resident, so on and so forth.
The interview is a basic interview asking pretty much why you chose CAC, questions about the program and just pretty basic stuff. The lady who interviewed me was the lady for block 1 and she was really nice. I hate interviews though :)
Good luck on your CNA. Where are you taking the test?
THANKS AGAIN , YOUR INFORMATION HAS BEEN HELPFUL. i AM TAKING THE NA BOARDS SUPERBOWL SUNDAY AT CHULA VISTA CARE CENTER IN MESA... THAT SCARES ME TOO. IM NOT SURE WHAT TO EXPECT, ESPECIALLY SINCE ITS BEEN ABOUT 6 MOTNHS SINCE I WENT THROUGH THE NA PROGRAM....
That is where I took mine! They are extremely nice. You can take as long as you want on the written, but it only took me about 20 minutes. The skills test was not bad at all. Just remember the bolded and asterisks in the "bible" and u should be good. My worse one is BP, but I managed and I passed, even though I walked away thinking I failed. Good luck!!
Thanks alot. Tomorrow it is. Ill post how it went. So, Rmacharrie, are you going to be in the RN program for the fall then ?
Yes, I should be guaranteed a place in the Fall program, but of course, until we get the letter, nothing is set in stone. Good luck today!!
thats great , with any luck i will be there too. So, i just took my NA boards. When i was done i went to the car and looked at the bible to see if there was anything that i forgot. I has occupied bed, weight an ambulatory resident, tpr, mouth care and of course hand washing. The only think i forgot on weight was slippers? does that automatically fail me ( it was not highlighted or bolded in bible. I also forgot my gloves on Mouth care ( also not bolded). its weird too because at work i wear gloves for everything even things that dont need it. i guess im a germaphobe. so if these two things dont fail me then all i have to worry about is making sure i got tpr close to the TO's reading. i hope i did. They said i will know by thursday, not sure i can wait that long. The written was easy but there were a few curve balls, mabe it was just because i took the class so long ago and didnt review for any of the written. OH WELL, we shall see. Again thanks for your info, i appreciate it.
They were super nice at chula vista
Sooo how did it go??? Did you pass???
yes i did , with a 97%. now all i have to worry about is getting into the RN program for the fall. do you know when i should expect to hear something aout the interview? by the way thanks for all the advice:lol2:
