Please Help Me with AccBSN Online Program

Most of the programs I know of require an RN first, then it's no prob getting the BSN online. This is no help to you of course, sorry. Good luck if you find it!

I have mentioned the Mount St. Mary accelerated program before. I have precepted students in this 18 month program. A degree is required. The program includes the clinical experience the BRN requires and I agree with them.

The students and gradustes I have worked with have been exceptionally fine nurses/

It IS intensive. Some manage to work while attending the program.

Dang Spacenurse, I forgot about MSM's! I have heard great things about them. If I had a BA I would have gone through them.

But it's not online is it. I belive they have a traditional classroom program?

Thay's right.

I don't know of any totally on line program for those who are not licensed.

I think many instructors teach in the classroom as well as the clinical.

Even for an LVN I think supervised clinical experience is required and rightly so.

I am starting an accBSN program this May. I think they are great for those of us looking for a career switch (I have a background in business and an MBA). There are only 2 or 3 programs in the entire country for the accBSN, and none of them are online. It sounds like MSM is fairly close to you, though. Good luck.

From what I have researched, it appears that MSM would be your best bet. The only other AccBSN program in the Los Angeles area is Cal State Long Beach and Burbank to Long Beach is quite a haul! I did Irvine to Burbank to attend WoodburyU.

The CSULB is brand new, starts this fall. The nursing admin from CSULB modeled their program after the MSM program.

University of Wisconsin OshKosh has an on-line Accelerated BSN program, but you do have to do clinicals, of course. They hire a nurse in your area to do them with you, so you can be anywhere in the country and still be in their program. I think you have to become a CNA before you enter also.

I recently started a 2 year second degree BSN program at University of North Carolina after spending 8 years on active duty with the Marine Corps. I looked at and applied to several Accelerated BSN programs (there are a lot out there, just not many in CA) and eventually decided to go with the 2 year program. After watching the 14 monthers at UNC this summer, I am VERY happy with my decision. Intense is too mild a word for what they are doing right now! Accelerated programs are also very popular right now, I have found about 3 applicants for every spot! I'm not sure what your career plans are, but have you looked at any direct entry MSN programs? There are several out there that accept non-BSN bachelor degrees for entry to their Master's programs. Good luck!!

Many states have accelerated BSN programs, there are hundreds of them. Not sure where you are getting your info from.
