Please, please, please help me. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated.
I have passed the CGFNS & NCLEX, and have a passing score on TOEFL.
All I need is a passing score on the TSE. I have been taking the test for a year, but still unable to get 50. I don't know what to do.
I need advice from those who have scored 50. What do you think the key ingredients I should include in my speech would be to boost up my score?
Also, has anybody taken the IELTS? What do you think of it? Easier than the TSE? The reason I have not been on the IELTS path is that the test requires the applicant of taking all of the bands every time until I get a passing score.
I feel desperate....

Apart from TOEFL and TSE is there any other english test that has to be taken for the Visa screen program.
You have to pass either TOEFL+TWE(essay)+TSE or IELTS(the speaking part is easier). You need to check the requirements of the Board of nursing. You do need to take any other English proficiency exams.
Massachusetts actually requires that the foreign nurse take and pass TSE. They do not accept the IELTS series, at least up to present time for their English requirements. Not all states require English exams. You need to check with each state that you are going to apply to or think you are going to apply to.

Hi
I'm from the Philippines and took TSE twice... after I flunked the first try I attended a TSE course and got a 50 on my second try. They taught me 4 P's to remember:
1. Pray
2. Practical... use the simplest words and phrases to express yourself.
Don't mind grammatical errors, ignore them and recover quickly as you go
on...
3. Personalize...include your own experiences, feelings and emotions, talk as
if you're actually conversing with another
4. Pause...don't forget to breath, talk slowly and pretend as if you're talking
to a young child or a very old person.
Don't worry about time, just keep on talking. Concentrate on each question in sequence and when you hear the beep, forget about that question and focus on the next. Lastly, don't worry about your accent. It's not really important to sound American or British...the focus here is being understood.
Hope you make it!

At this point, I would recommend that you try the IELTS series. The best thing about it is that the tester is drectly in front of you for the speaking part. You are not listening to a tape recorder, or answering into one. Many have had much better luck with this exam because of the human element involved.
Have you been watching any American movies? These also help quite a bit, as well as the review CDs that are on the market. If they aren't available in your area, you may want to try some bookstores (on-line) to find them.
Let me know if you need more assistance..................
Hello.I failed once TSE(I had 45),but I took IELTS and I passed. One of my collegue failed TSE twice. On the second time she paid 50 $ for rescoring,in a couple of months she received her improved score -50 and they returned her money back.If they do not rescore your test ,they will explain you your mistakes. One of my other collegue used this information.I mean she paid 50$,they explained her mistakes and she took for the second time and passed.
Good luck.
