Please Help! How Did You All Scored 50 on the TSE?
Please, please, please help me. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. I have passed the CGFNS & NCLEX, and have a passing score on TOEFL. All I need is a passing score on the TSE. I have been taking the test for a year, but still unable to get 50. I don't know what to do. I need advice from those who have scored 50. What do you think the key ingredients I should include in my speech would be to boost up my score? Also, has anybody taken the IELTS? What do you think of it? Easier than the TSE? The reason I have not been on the IELTS path is that the test requires the applicant of taking all of the bands every time until I get a passing score. I feel desperate.... ayact:crying2:

Problems with CGFNS
Thank you, Rep & RNkiwi. As I have never considered to apply for a non-immingrant work visa (i.e. H1B and H1C), I was wondering why we needed to keep renewing a CGFNS certificate every 5 years. Now I know it is for the people who apply for H1 category visas. Thank you, ayact

MA nursing license by reciprocity
I have a CA nursing license and am trying to get a MA license by reciprocity. I know initial applicants for the MA license by exam must pass the CGFNS exam before writing the NCLEX, but does anybody know what about initial applicants by reciprocity? Following the instruction, I have mailed all the required documents to the Credential Evaluation Services (TN). Here is their website. http://www.pcshq.com/pcsweb/PCSCandPg.nsf/AED/f3659aee03e791d486256c4f006fe289?OpenDocument One of the documents I mailed was a letter of approval to write the CGFNS exam, because the instruction that I downloaded from the website says the letter is one of the documents that satisfy the requirements. However, the representatives say that all the applicants educated outside the U.S. must have the CGFNS certificate regardless of licensure by exam or reciprocity. I do not see such a definite requirement on their website. Have anybody applied for a MA license? Were you required to have a CFGNS certificate? Thanks, ayact

Problems with CGFNS
Suzanne, I thought we need the Visa Screen Certificate only to apply for a green card. Do we need to renew the certificate every five years even after we get green cards and why??? In case we work in a different state?

Problems with CGFNS
Hi Susapet, I am so sorry to hear the trouble you are experiencing. If you didn't have any trouble before sitting for the CGFNS exam, probably, you were lucky. In my impression, the CGFNS is really slow to process applications and, even worse, they frequently lose applications and supplimental documents sent by applicants. They release incorrect or outdated information, inconsistent information among letters, website, and customer survice representatives, and never apologize for such trouble. I had enough of those when I applied for a CGFNS certificate. I cannot give you any advice on how to handle the CGFNS, but I know how frastrating it is to work with them. ayact

Any RN's working in the research field???
Thank you, BeachNurse! In my impression working with drug companies looks helping them making money out of patients:rolleyes: That's why I said "for them". But you seem you work with them but not for them. That sounds good to me. I am interested in health behaviors and risk management, which are not the kind of research that drug companies deal with, I guess. I will look into universities/teaching hospitals. Thanks for your advice!

Any RN's working in the research field???
Hi, I am also interested in research, but my interest is not in clinical but is in nursing. I mean, I am not interested in working for drug companies or any other profit organizations. I want to do nursing research. Does anyone know what the job market in nursing research is like?
