Please help me get on the right career path!

I need a little guidance to get on the right track in my life. I was in nursing school in August of last year, but had to drop out because I got in a car accident and broke my ankle. One year later (now), I have applied to re-enter the class. One of the new application requirements is that you take a PSB test and they only pick 10 people for the class. They pick the students based on their test scores. I was informed that I rank at #12 (only picking 10) but they may consider my advanced standing status in order to get me in the class. I am so depressed. I don't even know if I will be in the class or not. I don't know if I have the ability to pass this class even. I feel lost. Should I screw around and wait or are there any other opportunities in the healthcare or related field that makes pretty decent money? I've considered EMT, Paramedic, etc. what do you think? If I do those, it would be easier to get into the class and I'd finish school sooner. But, what is the pay? Help!

Can you just use your credits to another nursing school?

I don't think so because I'm going to a technical college. I don't want to go to another college because it is longer (4 year college). I'm ready to finish school and start working and move on with my life.

You can go to Salary.com and look for what different professions pay in your area however, if you pick something just for the money, and not something you think you will be really interested in, you might find yourself right back at school in 10, 20, or 30 years from now.

If I were you, I would keep going for nursing school. The worse thing they can say is "No" right?

Try occupational therapy assistant. My sister started as a COTA and was making about 56,000/year working in a school district. She's now doing a bridge program to the masters where you could make upto 89,000/year.
