  1. Thank you, very informative!
  2. I don't think so because I'm going to a technical college. I don't want to go to another college because it is longer (4 year college). I'm ready to finish school and start working and move on with my life.
  3. I need a little guidance to get on the right track in my life. I was in nursing school in August of last year, but had to drop out because I got in a car accident and broke my ankle. One year later (now), I have applied to re-enter the class. One of the new application requirements is that you take a PSB test and they only pick 10 people for the class. They pick the students based on their test scores. I was informed that I rank at #12 (only picking 10) but they may consider my advanced standing status in order to get me in the class. I am so depressed. I don't even know if I will be in the class or not. I don't know if I have the ability to pass this class even. I feel lost. Should I screw around and wait or are there any other opportunities in the healthcare or related field that makes pretty decent money? I've considered EMT, Paramedic, etc. what do you think? If I do those, it would be easier to get into the class and I'd finish school sooner. But, what is the pay? Help!

  5. :chuckleI recently had ankle surgery and when I woke up I said the weirdest thing. I must have been hot because I was pushing the bed sheets off of me. My mom said "What's wrong, you're hot?" I said, "Yeah, get rid off this" mom said, "How you want me to get rid of this?" I replied, "Sell it on eBay, what, nobody buys sheets anymore?"
  6. "One can't help but wonder how a 21 yr old is making $5000/mo. And only $600 in expenses? Does that mean he's living with family and not paying rent?" Yes, he is living with his parents, as I am living with mine. We are waiting to get married until I finish school.
  7. "Is he financially in a place where he can help support you and himself?" He is 21 years old in September. Trust me, he can help me out. He makes around $5,000 a month and his bills add up to around $600. He doesn't spend the rest of it.
  8. "It makes me wonder what he will be like if we ever do get married."
  9. lizmatt we definitely think alike.
  10. I am attending a community college for an accelerated nursing program. I currently work at a small local restaurant and get paid only minimum wage. My school schedule only allows me to work 3 days a week including weekends; therefore, I am making no money. I'm not qualified for student aid and the school I attend does not participate in any student loan programs. I've tried applying at other restaurants such as Chili's and Olive Garden but I don't get hired because they do training in mornings which I cannot attend because of school hours. My parents are putting gas in my car, but they can only help out so much. I still have a car note to pay and credit card bill. My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 3 years. I have several girls in my class and their boyfriend is helping them out. Many girls were even able to quit their jobs because their boyfriend will give them money. I hate to work more hours and start failing school because of it. Do you think my boyfriend should be helping me out? Should he offer to put gas in my car, give me $50 or so? I don't think it is his obligation to help me out, but I feel he should.
  11. At my school there is an Anatomy & Physiology I and II class for RNs and an Anatomy & Physiology class for LPNs. What do you think may be the difference?
  12. I am currently taking Anatomy and Physiology I both lecture and lab. These classes are kicking my ass real hard. This is seriously not like high school I've come to understand. You REALLY have to study. I have a 64 and a 68 in lab. I feel that I am studying as much as I can, after all its hard when you have to work 6 days a week. When you come home from work you don't exactly care to go straight to the books. This is so depressing I don't know what to do anymore. Actually this class I'm taking is the Biology for RNs. I don't have to take this one because I am going for LPN. Should I stay in this class anyway even if I fail it and next semester just go the safe route and take the Biology for LPNs? Or should I drop this class with a "W"? I don't know what to do. Please help me, any advice is appreciated.
