Nurses General Nursing

Hi everyone! I am a senior at Hoover High School in Hoover, Alabama. I am taking a class that is called On Your Own and it basically teaches you how to live on your own when you graduate from high school. We are doing a project that is worth a bunch of points and we are asked to find the starting salary of our future career. I would like to pursue a career in neonatal nursing when I graduate from high school. So the question that I am asking is, can anyone tell me what the starting salary would be for a neonatal nursing in the state of Alabama? Thank you for your time.

Hi there,

Check out www.salary.com

You should find all the information you need.

Good luck on your project!

Starting salaries can vary widely from city to city within a state and from hospital to hospital. It may be unlikely to have an entry level position in neonatal nursing without some other OB nursing experience - again, it depends on if you're talking about newborn nursery, or Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) and what level NICU you're talking about. Go to www.salary.com. That's your best source for averages for a given profession, though it doesn't address specialties within the nursing profession.

You need to ckech with your State Nurses Assoc. also. Starting salaries vary greatly, as a MAy 2000 RN graduate, I know. Take care and good luck!
