Greetings, wonderful nurses!
Would one of you be willing to answer the following questions for me? Pretty-Please? I'm a nursing student and was just given a paper to write that I want to complete ASAP, and it requires interviewing a practicing nurse with a bachelor's or higher degree.
Only brief answers are needed, and your name will not be used:
And please include your type of nursing degree, type of nursing you do, and length of time in practice.
I would be so very appreciative of anyone willing to do this for me, just take 5 min. or so!
Really! Could have answered those questions in the same amount of time with the long responses in where to go find a nurse. Hope you find someone that will help you. That's what I thought this forum was for.
No. Asking random strangers on the internet questions does not fulfill the conditions of the assignment. There is no way to be sure that we are who and what we say we are.
Well no it isn't...As per the TOSReally! Could have answered those questions in the same amount of time with the long responses in where to go find a nurse. Hope you find someone that will help you. That's what I thought this forum was for.
Allnurses is place where professional nurses come to share ideas. network, and learn. Allnurses wants to maintain the integrity of the profession and be sure it supports the students in becoming the best nurses they can be...this does not include short cuts to an assignment that is meant to make a new nursing student go outside their comfort zone and begin learning one of the essential skills necessary in caring for patients....the initial nursing interview/assessment/admissions.This is NOT the forum to ask someone to do your homework for you. When asking for assistance with an assignment, please show what you have done first.
As many of us are, or have been, faculty we realize the importance of these assignments in the growth process that every nurse travels as they become a nurse. Just because one wishes to complete the assignment ASAP is not a good reason to skip the lesson of interviewing a complete stranger and learning how to go outside your comfort zone.
I have answered thee posts in the past and will again when the poster stated that they have interviewed nurses and what areas that they practice for them I know they have done the leg work necessary to complete the assignment. As I stated in my previous post....
The problem is how do you know that we are actually a "real nurse" and what our degrees are? While I believe that allnurses has a majority of nurses who are completely honest about their degree...I am sure there are some who are not.The interview is a learned skill. every day we as nurses have to interview complete strangers, gain their trust, establish a relationship, and ask them very personal intimate questions about them and their lives. This skill is developed over time and with practice...and it isn't one that can be learned online.
If your instructor really doesn't require your to of at least one in person interview they are doing you a disservice. You can call your local health department, a school nurse at a local school, find a blood drive nearby and ask to talk with one of the nurses....find a flu clinic being offered maybe even your own PCP office if they have a NP or office nurse.
Go outside your comfort zone and be the best nurse you can be.
OP, I know that it really feels strange putting yourself out there. You probably feel very uncomfortable asking a real life nurse that you have not met for an interview. Please know that nurses WILL be willing to meet with you face to face for an interview. Nurses are everywhere. We get requests like this all the time on my unit. Most nurses I know like talking about nursing. We very happily oblige these requests. It is very important to do these types of assignments in person.
