Please advise - skin post suture removal?

Published

Hi everyone , just wanted to ask your advice. My aunt had a small skin lesion removed from left side of her face under her eye.  I removed my aunts sutures today (4 of them) as was arranged with us and her doctor. The procedure was performed at the oral / maxilla facial clinic 8 days ago. The sutures were very small. We had been following instructions to clean the wound twice daily. And we also applied chloromycetin ointment 3 times a day to the wound. The last couple of days I noted the wound was getting a bit red on the surrounding skin ? Perhaps irritation from the chloromycetin ? I removed the sutures and rang the clinic , they said to keep wound clean and cont with the chloromycetin ointment? But I didn’t get to talk to them , it was through the secretary so I couldn’t ask any questions. Have attached a picture ? What do you guys think ? I’ve applied a little bit of bethadine for the moment. Do you guys think it looks OK ? She is flying out of the country tomorrow on holidays. There has been no bleeding or pain. I’m not used to removing sutures from the face

@haveyourbowelsmoved, as the terms of service prohibit our offering medical advice, these questions are best directed to your aunt's provider that performed the procedure.

Best wishes.
