It's a bare root and looks so sad - waiting now for Spring to see it bursts into life

I have a Cherry tree that is riddled by bugs and holes from a wood pecker. ?  I had an Arborist look at it and he said the tree is still alive and to just provide more nutrients to see if it will bloom this year.  Thus, I am waiting for Spring too to decide if I need to put the tree out of its misery or just allow it time to heal. ?

There are some products that might help your tree. perhaps a sealant like the ones used when you cut off a limb. You can find it at most hardware or garden stores.
