what materials are you using? and what state you from?
@kewlnursetobe: i went to a nursing review, excell nursing review that is catered by filipino nurses from chicago. they have schedule here also in ca. right now, i am using ncsbn and saunders q&a. im at california right now and im taking it in ca bon. im still waiting for my eligibility again and i want to get over it this february. i guess a month long of review is ok.
when will u take ur nclex exam? and what materials are you using?
@ somin: you should start studying even though u still havent applied for ur nclex coz i can tell u its not like any of those questions from the book or review center. what they give you are easy questions. im not trying to psych you about it but it really is hard esp when ure sitting on that CAT prolly because ur anxiety shoots up. its better to have those difficult level questions since ur CAT is telling u that you are above passing :D
anne hi,
me too I really want to get over this hopefully mid Feb. I'm using saunders and Kaplan for practice questions. But I recently found out about Hurst coz they're really disecting the lessons in a way I can understand, I really don't have a budget for the review class though :) I just borrowed a book. I'm in Seattle right now but I applied for CA NCLEX and will be taking the exam here as well ( do you think it will affect my exam since I'm not taking this in CA? )
no it doesnt matter where u take the exam. the questions are the same since its computer generated.
i took my first exam last nov by reviewing by myself and sticking just with hurst book for the content and ncsbn. ncsbn was a great help but i found that they have easy level questions but it will lead you to difficult questions on ur CAT.
forget what hurst is saying in the book for their q&a since i checked it with brunner and they're way off in some of their answers so i went over the content for the second time and skipped the q&a, what i did was understand what ncsbn is telling for the rationale.
i suggest you stick to one book for the rationale so that u wont confuse urself.
i found saunders and la charity from the posts here and i can say they resemble the nclex questions but nclex is just too difficult for me (maybe i freak out when it comes to major exams. i start to forget things) people get test anxiety differently. but yeah stick to one of ur book for reference, q&a, and READ LA CHARITY. also check the ncsbn test plan for what topics you should review.

Hey, I plan on using Laclarity (if i said that right), saunder and kaplan. Which kaplan course are you taking? I am retaking NCLEX Failed the first time. This time around I plan on taking Kaplan Review. Add me on Skype if you are looking for a review buddy. My username is umesh.mirani

I agree with your on Hurst review, they do a good job content wise but Qbank is no where close to NCLEX. I plan on La Charity (which I already ordered), and Kaplan this time. Lots of priority and SATA on Nclex. I added you on skype, hopefully we can help each other and get through this. My Skype username is umesh.mirani if anyone else would like to join.
actually i didnt get kaplan for some reason. ill stick with only 4 reviewers (ncsbn, la charity, hurst, and the cd from saunders book). I felt as if i would be confused on which to follow for the rationale if theres more stuff that ill be studying.
basically from how my first exam turned out. im sticking with ncsbn, and the la charity book that they kept on telling to review here in this website. and use hurst book for the memorization stuff coz that book has lots of pictures.
hopefully we can start studying
