Pilot program for overseas testing of NCLEX

Official word has finally come out that beginning Janaury, 2005, there will be

three pilot test centers opened. London, Hong Kong and Seoul are the three sites picked on a trial basis. No word yet if the fee structure will remain the same for those sites. You will still need to receive an ATT letter to be able to sit for this exam. Licensure requirements will also remain the same, the only thing that these test sites will do is save you money by not having to fly to the US to take the exam beforehand. :)

Give it a try and see what happens. Or have your aunt do it for you from the US. That is another possibility...........

hi! thanks for the info. it will be my auntie's credit card, now the problem is that she's in US but and she can't be there in front of me when paying. she is willing to give her security code, do you think it would be ok to use her credit card? :)

hi!

that's really a good news for us nurses here in the philippines. i already have my att, while selecting hongkong as my test center in pearsonvue, there is a note that i need to contact and schedule my appointment for an exam over the phone since only test centers inside us can be scheduled through pearsonvue. it is said in the nclex candidate bulletin that there is an additional fee of $150 for international scheduling. do you have any idea how will i pay this fee? what will i do if i will pay it using not my own credit card? thanks a lot!

3. about the local travel agency, i'm still scouting for nclex package tour

i think the cost of the package tour depends as to what month. if it falls during peak season, the cost will be higher than the regular rate.

hi ybeth, thank you again, appreciate your reply. actually, i called 2 travel agencies here and ofcourse they got different rate.. the 1st one costs, $419.75 + $5 bf fee, while the 2nd agency costs *$ 559 :uhoh21:

oh boy... we need to pass this exam:uhoh3: :chuckle

as of now, i have no ATT yet. just settled my nclex fee last night and received today their acknowldgement about the payment.

about the $150 additional fee.. i also don't know how to do it.:p i just emailed my agent today and hopefully she'll accomodate me a.s.a.p. will also share with you the "how to's" if i got her reply..

hi ybeth, here's how:

before calling the pearson vue, you need to have your att on hand and the credit card you"ll be using and you need to know as well the security digit code.. (will explain later)

> i called pearson vue at this # 00 1 866-496-2539 around 9:30pm here. (you'll be hearing voice prompt & will ask you to press #'s appropriate to your need) state that you're calling from phils. and you wish to take the exam in hk.

> will ask you about your personal infos, att infos~ authorization #, candidate i.d.,

> then you'll choose the date you like to sit for the exam, (she'll confirm if it's still available) you'll know your time & date of the exam.

>about the int'l sched. fee, you'll be ask about what card you'll be using (visa, mastercard..) then the card holder's name, number & the validity date. (in case you'll not use your personal card, the person will ask the address & telephone # of the owner of the card holder ( they'll confirm if you're allowed to use the card and if it's truly existing) here's some tip: inform the card holder ahead of time that pearson vue will call so that your payment will be settled at once. after this..

> then you'll be able to receive an email from pearson vue about the confirmation of your scheduled date and the place.

You have to pay the fee to Pearson-Vue of $200 to even receive your ATT. They are now actually sent out by Pearson-Vue once they receive notification that you are able to sit for the exam..............
