Piercings While Taking CNA Course & Clinical?

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I'm new here and was hoping someone could help me out. I'm 16 (turning 17 in October) and I just started taking a CNA class at my high school. It requires we spend 5 days doing clinical before we take our CNA test in the Spring. I'm really serious about having a job in the medical field in the future (namely the emergency room). However, I've had snakebite piercings (two lip studs) for a long time and I'm a bit hesitant to take them out. I am willing to take them out if that's the last resort, but I'm looking for other options as well. I've been looking online and I found some clear colored and flesh colored bioplast lip studs that you can use to hide your piercings for work, school etc. My CNA teacher told me that I either had to take them out or cover it up with a band-aid, and even so I'm sure I can tear a bit off and cover the hole and place a little make up over it to help hide the little scars the piercings left. My piercings are also completely healed (I've had them for months now). I'm not quite sure if clear retainer studs could help me out or let me do clinical and work as a CNA, but just hearing a little feedback would be nice. Thank you!

This line alone in your post should tell you what you really should do about your piercings. Best to leave them out completely. Trying to conceal them otherwise seems like more work than its worth IMHO.

I have a lip piercing as well and I'm going to be starting Nursing school in 4 days. They haven't said anything about it yet but I know once it comes time for clinicals they will tell me. I've had mine for atleast 2 years now.. I'm going to take mine out completely and try to use scar cream and stuff like that and hopefully it wont scar. It's probably going to be easiest just to take them out because once you go to a college for nursing or get a job as a nurse the piercings will have to be gone..

I had a nape piercing. I loved that thing... so much. However, I want to be an RN even more so. If you really are serious about having a job in the medical field, just take them out. If you cover them up you'll have to do it all of the time! I think that will get old and you will grow tired of doing it. Think about what's more important to you and go from there.
