Piedmont New Grad Residency 2017

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone,

I recently interviewed for the Piedmont residency program and was wondering if anyone else applied or interviewed for a position. I haven't seen any recent post from this year and I'm interested to hear others thoughts on the program.

Athens! I applied for many locations. I believe Athens only does med surg, which is my last choice, but we will see! I'm interested in ED, critical care, and cardiovascular. I haven't heard from Atlanta either, which I would absolutely love to work at that location!

Good luck to you all

I'll send you a PM.

Yeah, I was at Emory earlier for interviews. It was a mad house!

Thanks for the Northside info, that makes me feel better. I'll give them until March 14 before I call, but hopefully I'll hear from them before a month has passed! Have you heard anything from classmates about Piedmont? I'm the only one in my class who applied there, so I don't have anyone to try to harvest info from! Hah.

Did you follow-up with HR regarding a timeline for interviews? Of course we're all interested in hearing any news.

I'm speaking with HR on Monday morning! I'm guessing this will be an initial phone screen and interview then if I pass they will forward me to an interview?

A vote of confidence for you because you know your stuff!

Update: I had a phone interview with HR from Athens. She asked a couple of behavioral questions and asked about my experience. She is forwarding me to the managers of the units and I should hear back soon to schedule an interview!

Yippee!!!!

Yippee!!!!

Hey! I saw where you sent me a private message but I haven't reached enough posts to message you back.

Southernnurse68. No problem respond once you see it. I'll be praying for positive results when you interview at Fayetteville's ED. The waiting is certainly stressful to find out if I'll get an interview with Piedmont (Atlanta & Fayetteville); praying.

Hopefully you will hear something soon! I know in my phone interview they mentioned having an ICU position open at Newnan, did you apply there?

I'm new to the Georgia area (I'm from Arizona) -'d I applied to multiple locations for the ED, cardio units, and ICU. Why did you choose the locations you did? I'm just curious because I don't know a whole bunch but I've done a lot of research on each hospital!

I'm from Georgia so I've always known about Piedmont. My grandfather was treated at Piedmont Atlanta several times for heart attacks. Mountainside (in Jasper) is about an hour and 45 minutes from where I'm from and my parents live, so I applied there for that reason. My boyfriend is from the Newnan area, so that is why I applied there. When the recruiter told me the Newnan ED position was filled, she offered for me to interview at Fayette, which is about 20 minutes from Newnan. I didn't want to deal with Atlanta traffic, so I chose to look at the satellite hospitals and chose these because they were in nice areas that are quite and I feel more comfortable starting out in a smaller hospital.

Which locations did you apply for?

Hopefully you will hear something soon! I know in my phone interview they mentioned having an ICU position open at Newnan, did you apply there?

No, I didn't know where Newnan was located. The two locations I applied for Piedmont ICU/critical care are Atlanta and Fayetteville. Thanks for the heads up because WE are honestly about helping each other!
