Piedmont New Grad Residency 2017

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone,

I recently interviewed for the Piedmont residency program and was wondering if anyone else applied or interviewed for a position. I haven't seen any recent post from this year and I'm interested to hear others thoughts on the program.

Too much time has past for me to correct the last post above on last paragraph. Correction: I look forward to reading any of US hear from a recruiter regarding Atlanta & Fayetteville locations. Good luck everyone because we are all anxious.

Hey guys. Just wanted to update everyone. I had my phone interview today and have an interview at Piedmont Fayette for the ER residency on the 28th of this month!

Wow, this is awesome news to hear recruiters/managers are contacting individuals who had resumes that interested them. How was the phone interview and due to responding correctly that is what is leading to your in-person interview, correct? Kudos and I certainly hope an offer comes your way!

I know of one other person who has applied, but that was a few days ago and haven't heard anything back yet. Other than that, I don't know if anyone else who has applied. How were the Emory interviews?

The Emory interviews were quite interesting for an ICU position (ICU and Neuro ICU), I met with a Charge Nurse and a stafff (new grad nurse who graduated two years ago), in an environment where multiple interviews were taking place. If I recall correctly, they ask about 4-5 questions from a list of possibly 10 then asked if I had any questions for them. In the last interview with Neuro ICU they interviewed two of us at one time and alternated questions which was extremely interesting because it quickly highlighted the difference in experience/exposure for an individual who has actually worked in an ICU environment, in comparison to a person who didn't have the same type of exposure. There were a lot of people that came in for interviews and we were all taken into an auditorium environment then called back to an open forum where interviews were being conducted. This was my experience and I hope it's helpful for others.

Who conducted the phone interview, what type questions and what was the process like? I'm confident you'll do good keep us posted, thanks.

Hey all,

Has anyone who applied in mid-February heard anything from them yet? I applied to the Midtown location for the RN residency and to the Newnan location for a "new grads eligible" L&D position, both on Feb 14, and I haven't received anything about scheduling an interview (or being rejected, either) yet.

I applied to Emory and Northside the same day. Interviewed with Emory, and haven't heard from Northside yet either. I'm trying to decide if it'd be appropriate to give their HR departments a call to check on my application status/get info re: when they'll contact to schedule an interview. Thoughts?

It's reasonable for an HR office to take 30-45 days before responding my mother is an HR Director with the government. The difference with hospitals is frequently they have recruiters helping them in the screen out process. One thing I found from various threads, is some hospitals are quicker to respond than others but this was also mentioned in previous threads regarding 2016 new grads. Best of luck keep us updated.

Thank you! The Emory interviews sound like a free for all almost. A nurse recruiter is who I interviewed with on the phone. She asked me about why I wanted to work for Piedmont, my work experience as a student PCT, why I chose the two locations that I applied for, what would keep in those areas, if I was okay with the two year contract, what my co-workers would say about me, my top three areas I wanted to work, why I wanted to become a nurse, if I had any experience in the ER, and about preceptorship.

Thank for r the information and truly hoping for positive news, if this is your first choice.

Thank you! I interviewed with Wellstar yesterday and they extended an offer today, and I just accepted there. So no more worrying about hearing back from Northside and Piedmont for me! Haha. Good luck to you!

Hello,

I just received an email notifying me I received multiple offers from Wellstar at AMC-Downtown for critical care or acute care Neuro/tele. Once I notify her they will get the offer to me. The base pay $23.65 but with differentials it ends up being $29.

Of course, I will keep my options open if contacted by Piedmont.

Hello! I recently applied for the summer residency and was just contacted to set up a phone interview by the recruiter. Do you mind sharing what the interview process is like?

Hi Brittany,

Congrsts on getting a call! Now, can

we first clarify if you are saying Piedmont contacted you for a phone interview and if so what location and area are you interested in working?

This thread is about Piedmont but it evolved because several of us are applying to many hospitals in hopes of getting an offer to start our career. I'll be the first to say, Piedmont is my #1 choice and I've been dying to hear anyone was contacted for the Atlanta location in particular critical care.

Please keep us informed and sending blessings and good vibes your way!

Athens! I applied for many locations. I believe Athens only does med surg, which is my last choice, but we will see! I'm interested in ED, critical care, and cardiovascular. I haven't heard from Atlanta either, which I would absolutely love to work at that location!

Good luck to you allí ½í¸Š
