has anyone taken both of these courses during the summer and done well?? How hard was it??
These are my last 2 classes before applying into the program and summer is the only way ill get them done in time to apply in sept!
physio is Mon through thurs from about 8 to 1145 its an 8 week course i belive starting june
Micro is M through thurs 6- 9 starting in may 8 weeks as well. Will this be too much?? Physio is a prereq but micro bio is not requred but its taken to add points to your app so you have a higher chance of getting in. I need an A in physio a B would be fine in micro
Not sure if i can take micro in the fall and im allowed to apply while in the class

Will your school allow it? Mine won't allow more than one science subject per semester. I tried, I want to get the prerequisites done asap. Good Luck!

My college allows you to take 2 science classes in the summer. However, I'm only taking A&P 2 in summer session 2. The classes are so short in the summer that I don't want to over do it. I am taking Microbiology in the Fall though.

I wouldn't do both in a summer. It is too risky for your GPA.

I took Micro Lec, Micro Lab, Physio Lec all at the same time for a 5-week summer session at a university. At first I felt the same way, I was scared I would end up with a bad grade since those five weeks were going to be intense.
However, I ended up with an A in each course! It wasn't as difficult as I expected. As long as I didn't procrastinate, and did my reading BEFORE each class, I actually performed better than I would normally have during a full semester. I think the shorter time-frame forced me to keep on track and stay ahead. With a full semester I tend to procrastinate more.
Before my classes started, I purchased my text books several weeks early, and started studying way ahead of time. I was always at least 1 chapter ahead of my classes, which helped A LOT. I also noticed that during the first couple days of class, many other students sat in to evaluate whether or not they wanted to take the class. As a result, a good number of them decided to drop, because they felt the course load would be too much for them. So, maybe you could sit in the first couple days to feel it out? And drop if needed.
If you aren't working at the same time, and don't have any other major obligations that may get in the way (ie. baby at home?) I think it is very do-able. As long as you have the dedicated amount of time needed to study. In my opinion, it's all about planning ahead, setting aside the time, and being prepared for each class.
Also, I'd like to add that the material for each class overlapped. So, studying for Micro helped me in Physio, and vice versa. I felt it actually benefited me that I took them at the same time. I actually even referred to my Micro text book to study certain areas of Physio since I felt it was better written.
