Physician assisted suicide is legal in five states; Oregon, Vermont, Washington, Colorado and California, and Washington D.C. The laws and requirements differ from state to state, but in general, a patient must be terminally ill, and make multiple verbal and written requests several months apart to ensure the decision is not spontaneous.
Now my question is; should others be allow access to physician-assisted suicide? My thought is those that are/will be in immense pain for the duration of their life, such as those with trigeminal neuralgia? Patients that are not necessarily in immediate danger of dying, but have such a low quality of life?
Thanks in advance!

Why do you ask? Personal reason? Homework?

I believe all mentally competent adults should be make any decisions about how they live their lives. Governments should not decide how/when i make my exit.
