We take phone calls from hospital at physican office and then email to physician. Physician gives orders per email and then Rn

calls specific nurse at hospital with Dr. orders for specific patient. Should theses message be saved in the patient

chart. Whne using paper these where not saved. "because these orders when in patient chart at hospital"

Any adivse. Thanks :nurse:

Thing is, that kind of leaves the RN wide open. Also, leaves out continuity for the physician doesn't it? Are these patients seen for OV?

What kind of charts do you have in your office? At my office we use EMR and it has a call template function where incoming/outgoing calls can be logged and they are automatically saved to the chart and you also have the option to print. It's a wonderful thing :)

We use the same thing. It is great. No one can "lose" what was said/done which covers the nurse and MD. :nurse:
