We take phone calls from hospital at physican office and then email to physician. Physician gives orders per email and then Rn
calls specific nurse at hospital with Dr. orders for specific patient. Should theses message be saved in the patient
chart. Whne using paper these where not saved. "because these orders when in patient chart at hospital"
Any adivse. Thanks

Thing is, that kind of leaves the RN wide open. Also, leaves out continuity for the physician doesn't it? Are these patients seen for OV?

What kind of charts do you have in your office? At my office we use EMR and it has a call template function where incoming/outgoing calls can be logged and they are automatically saved to the chart and you also have the option to print. It's a wonderful thing :)

We use the same thing. It is great. No one can "lose" what was said/done which covers the nurse and MD.
What kind of template do you have? We use EMR, but have no template, for
this function. Message can be saved, but is not automatically saved to the chart, does have optiom to save as well as print. Thanks
Xeoemmy, Could you share EMR template. Would be very helpful. I work in
physican office which accepts calls from hospital, Nursing homes, and questions
from pts. about meds, next appt for lab etc. Any assisstance would be
appreciated.
