hey guys im also scheduled for panel interview on oct 14, and unluckily i am not a grad of plm, up or st paul.what would be the questions?i have read in another thread that it is gonna be about procedures?oh no.hope i could pass the interview.any more tips?help?
Hi.. Some say that there will be questions about nursing procedures and personal questions too. Think positive.. we will pass! I believe you can make it.. I've known someone who is also not a graduate of PLM, St. Paul and UP.. she said that there were nursing procedures asked to her but she managed to answer it. Fortunately, she passed the interview. We all have the chance to be part of the premiere tertiary hospital equally. I am a graduate of one of the schools mentioned above but I also feel the same as yours.. We are on the same boat.. I am scheduled on October 21... Lets's hope and pray for the best!

It's only basic stuff like suctioning, skin testing, enteral feeding, etc. Don't worry too much. I am sure that what they will ask you will be stuff that was taught to you in college. :)
why do u have to be a graduate student of those ff schools?
You don't have to be graduates of those schools. It's quite commonplace here in the Philippines that hospitals tend to have a little bias on those nurses they have produced. For example, the school of nursing of Chinese General Hospital would somewhat favor nurses from their nursing school and Makati Medical Center would do the same for their graduates. But in the end, it still depends on the applicant on how he/she would mark on the hiring process. Being a graduate of other schools doesn't exclude you from the process as well.

It's not a requirement to be a graduate of those schools. It just so happened that those schools are the only affiliated schools in PGH so there's a little "bias" as what others are saying. But that is not the sole determinant of the application process... Everyone should undergo the same process.
that is true. i am not a plm, up or st paul grad but i was hired. I think they're mainly looking at the grades and board rating. even my fellow applicants who got accepted came from different schools. during my panel before i was only asked personal questions and about my future plans. wasn't asked any nursing procedures. they even asked me if it's okay with me to be assigned on pay ward. of course i said yes! just show them that you would be an asset to the hosp. modesty aside, i think i impressed the panel who interviewed me. i only stayed in the room for 5 mins. some applicants were interviewed for 20 mins.

I am scheduled for panel interview a week after yours. Godbless... The biggest chunk for the overall score is Educational achievement (NPE, GWA and board rating) 65%. all the best!
