PHCC spring 2012 RN acceptance letters?

Published

:yeah:Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the RN program for PHCC Spring 2012????

Hey, everyone...I haven't had 2 seconds to see what everyone has been up to since we got THE letter! I see there is talk of getting together before school starts. I would love to join in so if anyone has decided the details and I missed it could you fill me in? I also saw talk of books, has anyone started buying them yet and if you have what are some of the costs? Can't wait to start and at the risk of sounding silly I am SSSOOO nervous! I have waited for this for so long I just don't want to fail! Ugh!!!!

Mommycm You have made it thru the worst of the battle in my eyes! Not that is will be smoothe sailing from here but you can do it...and just think that we are all in it together so you have a wonderful support team! As for meeting up....yes we will so do that but there has been no real plans in place and as for buying books...we were told to wait until after orientation to buy books...so you are all good as for now! Did you get your physical, titers, immunizations, flu shot, cpr class, ppd and all that jazz????

How was the CPR class for everyone? I'm only asking because I'm going Tuesday and don't know what to expect. Everything should be wrapped up for me this week by Friday and I am thrilled about that!

Mazajuma...if your instructors are anything like the ones I had the only way you could fail would be to not show up. lol They basically told us the questions and answers before the test and they even said that no one will fail cause if you got anything wrong they would let you answer again til you got right answer.

Yup, CPR was crazy easy. You're going to laugh when it's over!

I have my whole packet finished, copies and all! I'm just waiting to turn it in!

When it gets closer, we should all try to get together :-) I can't wait to start shopping for shoes, is that weird??? Hahaha!!

I already have my stethoscope picked out! I looked on this forum for shoes and I found that many people recommend Danskin, but that brand is women only. I haven't found anything recommended for men so I'm outta luck I guess.

Justletgo1, thanks for the support! I still have to take the CPR class and I think I waited too long because there isn't anything available around my work schedule. Where is everyone taking it at and how much did it cost? I will probably end up having to take off work to take it.

What stethoscope did you pick out? I don't even know where to start with that!

I looked at what PHCC had (online) and did some research on those models. They all seem to be pretty good, but the cardiology ($270) seems too expensive for me at this time. So I looked at what was left and decided on the Littmann Master Classic II. It's rated an 8/10 on Littmann's website and had 5 star reviews on Amazon. The Classic II was rated a 7/10 on Littmann's site and 4 1/2 stars instead of 5. For the $30 difference I think it's worth it, but the $140 step up to the cardiology seems a bit much.

I'm getting mine from PHCC because of the Pell grant, but if you buy online you can customize it with different colors and finishes. Kinda cheesy I know, but still it'd be cool.

Oh my god I was just freaking out! I double checked the cpr class' website and it said closed for tommorrow. I called the provider's cell phone even! I have already paid and thought I had to reschedule but they didn't have anything the rest of the month. Phcc doesn't have one until the 28th and so I thought I was going to have to fight for a refund, pay out of pocket again, and go all the way down to NPR for a class. Turns out they're just full. If they just put full on the site instead of closed I wouldn't have freaked.

That's sucks! Are you taking it at PHCC? Who's your instructor?
