:yeah:Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the RN program for PHCC Spring 2012????
Bummer, if noone else got letters today, I won't get my hopes up for today.
Maza- Regarding stethescope quality/ differences..I don't know personally, but have heard that the difference is in the sound clarity and comfort of the ear buds. I heard the cheapies will kill your ears.
I have been looking online and plan on getting a Littman also...do you know if PHCC has any rules on getting colored ones, as opposed to the traditional black? They have a rasberry one and I love it and must have it lol. I too plan on engraving mine.
I decided that if I do not make the LPN program this go round, I will apply for RN in fall. I have 3 pre-req classes left and have a 4.0 so far. It's my darn TEAS score that sucks (hence my fear of not getting into LPN).
Sorry for rambling so much...I am bored at home (stay at home mom..little one is napping) and I'm stressing big time lol :grn:
Springhopeful- I too have heard the same things about the stethescopes and my husband confirmed that... they had a rep come to their school for orientation and said you need a good fitting, and the sound clarity is essential.
My mail usually comes around noon; however, I am at work till 5, uggg!
jennymarie- what time does your postal carrier usually come?
nothing but juck mail today for me also...and naturally more bills...jeeeeeeeeeeez.....springhopeful, what did you get on your TEAS that you think is so horrible????...and jenniemarie I am so for continuing the thread....when I do not get "the letter" as it has been on a daily basis...I can't wait to get on here after work to see what you guys have to say....it really is something to look forward to due to the conspiracy and all!!!
Hi all... late night for me, I just got home! and NO letter!!!!!!!!!!
The only thing I can say about no letter is that I feel better knowing that none of us have gotten them... so we all are in this together and not wondering why one of us got one and not another... that would make the wait all that much worse.
As far as books go... not suer who orginally asked? I would log intp your PHCC mail and check for used book from the former nursing students, or send out a message stating you are looking for them. I bought a used Mosby Study guide for the Nclex, from Amazon. I looke through it when I am not in other classes and busy doing the work for them... it was recommended by a friend of mine that is a RN-ANRP. It came with a CD, which is great!
Okay all, until tomorrow! Good luck to us all. Fingers Crossed they come in tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I have tried to post a reply like 3 times now and it keeps not showing up lol
Hopefully this works...and hopefully it doesnt end up posting more than once.
@justletgo- I got a 74 on my TEAS V. Not terrible, but not good. I did fine on everything but science (could have done better on spelling too actually haha). I didn't study chem or physics enough and there was a lot of that on the science portion. I studied more life science/ bio/ A&P. I haven't had a chem or physics class since highschool 10 yrs ago, so I did pretty bad on science. At least I know what to expect for next time, should I need to retake.
The test actually made me feel pretty dumb for having gone to college already.
Guess my study skills are a little rusty!
Hopefully today is THE day! Good luck everyone!!

maza-i know nothing about stethoscopes. Just have a few nurse and doctor friends who have ALL told me to get a littmann. After looking, i realized there are a ton of different types so I'll ask around and relay any info on here.
