Hi everyone! Just wondering if there are any other Phcc lpn applicants going crazy out there? The waiting is killing me, and I'm afraid my husband might murder me if I don't stop Freaking out lol. Between stalking the mail carrier and talking about it all the time, he is over it. Can't blame him either. So just looking to see if any others are doing the same.

ck73 - where do they want for the background check to be done? is there a website? and where would we go do the urine sample and when should they call us? when do you have orientation? and where do you get all the books from? can you use any of those book websites such as chegg or halfofftextbooks? soo many questions.
and to the other girls. if you talk to the dean is it the associate dean of nursing or the dean of health sciences? let me know if they give you more information. specifically the odds of us alternates all getting in.
okay, no being nervous today, it's all in god's hands! (talking to myself and maybe you)
have a great day! :)
CK73-
For titers- do we only need a titer for Rubella? Or one for each- Measles, Mumps, Rubella seperately?
I went and got all the health stuff done today- tb test and I got titers for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella. I didn't need a tetorifice..and had the polio vac when I was little.
I am worried about the chicken pox one, I had it when I was little, I just hope I built up enough antibodies then to give a pos titer. I would hate to have to get that vacc- health dept. told me it is two shots at 97 each! Eeek
And after spending all that money on titers..I really hope I get in LOL
I may be jumping the gun a bit...
Now for CPR classes...
Hello.
Background checks - they want you to do it through certifiedbackground.com and it only takes a few days. It's $64 and you have a special code you have to enter. Because it only takes a few days I would wait on that.
Orientation is December 6th, but we're supposed to have all these things in by 25th.
SpringHopeful - it looks like you did good for your vaccines, etc.
Books - we get a list of ISBN's plus the books. So some can be bought at the bookstore, some elsewhere. There are a lot for the whole program.
Drug screening test- You pay for it then bring the receipt with you when you turn your check-off list with you (due Nov 25) and then they give you a form to take with you to Quest.
I hope this helps and I covered all.
Thank you ladies for all the information. I called the other day and the lady told me they were waiting for all the letters to come back before notifying the alternates. Is that what you've heard? Redsoxgirl78 the person who told you about the 10 spots and likelihood of being called was it someone in the offfice? I'm glad you got through because I'm too chicken to call again and ask questions and I would be hopeful off your comment. Okay, I'll admit. Anxious. But it's the weekend now and we shall see. Just want to send out positive thoughts and prayers again that we will all be meeting soon as 2012 Spring PHCC LPN classmates! :)
Cynmar621-She told me they could start norifying as early as today. And I am a5 school 24/7 so i am always going in to ask questions. It was the health coordinator I have spoken to a few times. She really said the alternates almost make it in. We need to keep our heads up and stay positive.
CK73- Thank you for all the info!
Redsox- Thank you for asking so many questions, I am with Cynmar..too scared to keep calling lol
Cynmar- Still loving the positivity! I need it...I feel like if I actually get in it will be surreal at this point!
I dont have anything new to add....just came on to say hi and freak out for a few!!! :)

BLS - I thought the same thing. Basic Life Support. Paperwork reads: Students must take the American Heart Association - "Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers". It doesn't need to be done at PHCC, however it must be the American Heart Association - "Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers". Hope that helps!
Good Night!
