U.S.A. Florida

I want to meet some of you! I'm just getting ready to take my last 3 finals, have been studying for the TEAS for months now, and will be able to apply for next fall's nursing program (YAYAY!) I'd love to hear from some potential future classmates, how you are doing/ did with pre-reqs/ TEAS, and share the excitement upon acceptances!

Thank you so much for taking the time to figure all that out for me! You rock:)

You're very welcome. I know how anxious the process is when you are going through it.

How long did you study for the TEAS?

About a week for me. Got an 85

It all depends how fresh the study guide is for you. If you go through the study guide and find alot of it difficult you may need to spend a couple weeks. Expand deeper into subjects in the study guide. The science portion on the test is mainly physical science, periodic table, punnet squares, kinetic energy, balancing electrons, animal kingdom, understanding bonds etc. This test is a huge factor in you getting into the nursing program. Focus and put in 100 percent. Watch YouTube videos on things you need a refresher on.

Thanks so much! Also can anyone tell me the hours for 1st semester? I have 3 little ones under 5 so trying to plan accordingly. God willing I get in!:)

Depends on your campus and the availability of the clinical sites. For West, they have tried to run Lecture on Tuesdays from 9-1:00 and Thursday and Friday for Clinicals/Lab from 7-4:00. I will tell you though that clinicals can be flexible. I have a friend starting 3rd semester and she has always been at clinicals from 6:00 a.m. to 2 or 3:00 p.m. Just depends on your professor.

Also, know that campus can dictate this schedule. Also, the sites really determine when we are allowed to come to their facilities. If they decide Keiser for example gets Thursday and Fridays and we get Monday and Tuesday, we take what we can get. Just be forewarned.

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

At Porter we have lecture Tuesdays 9-1 and clinicals Thursdays and Fridays 7-4...pretty intense and that's just for the nursing classes!
