stick to the basic. you dont have to know everything about a drug eg. all drug interaction.

You'll find that many drugs that are in the same class have the same suffix, for example most drugs that end with "dine", are usually antihistamines or antihypertensives; beta blockers usually end in "lol"; Ace inhibitors usually end in "pril", etc. I think the best way to learn them is when you are in clinical, the more you pass them out the more they stick with you. To get through the the pharm class itself, it's just memorization one day at a time. Good luck :)

Just group the drugs by class and look at any similarities (lol, pril). Know the side effects, interactions, uses, mechanism of actions for the drugs. Some particular drugs in a class are used for basically one thing. I always made it a point to know which drugs may be used for a different use than most of drugs in the same class because it seemed like we always had a question about that particular drug. I just passed it and I am GLAD it is over! Oh yeah, study the questions at the end of the chapters and if your book comes with a CD study that. Ours always had lots of good NCLEX questions on it. Sometimes they would appear on the exams in class as well. I wish you the best of luck!:)
