Strategic National Stockpile

Quote

When state, local, tribal, and territorial responders request federal assistance to support their response efforts, the stockpile ensures that the right medicines and supplies get to those who need them most during an emergency.

Anyone have any information, knowledge or experience with this? It states the department of health & human services has to approve its use. So it could help & if so why are we not using it?

Yes, there should be several stockpile locations. Among the items stocked are N95 and ventilators. I guess I had assumed we had already deployed the stockpile and depleted the contents.

It would be interesting to know the status of the stockpile.

The administration clarified that the national stockpile didn't belong to the states.

I'm seeing boxes of face shields, gloves, and boxes and boxes of procedure masks at Sam's Club. These are all out for the public to buy. Do hospitals still lack these things?

No, no N 95s.
