Anyone here worked at PGH before? Looks like they're hiring. While waiting out the retrogression, might as well, right?

thanks gambutrol.. i know its gonna be a long process but im ok with that, i mean its my ever dream workplace, i can wait and have other jobs first till they call me. but the problem is i didnt pass the NPE so sad :(( i dont know when is the another exam.. i envy you guys.. you passed the NPE and some are waiting for interview now. sigh.. i dunno.. i dont feel any luck.. i badly wanted to pass, but didnt work out..

@tinkergelle, please give me some tips how you were able to pass the exam.. please please please :(

Your plan might not be God's plan for you. He has better plans for you I'm sure of that! Besides, they still have to wait for the hiring process... I know that DNET is just doing this for manpower pooling, so I am guessing they would hire those who would pass after 1 year (I am not kidding) or even more.

@UbersupeRN: I know PGH will come up for another NPE in the future. I just don't know when. I passed my NPE which I took last June 2010.. An advice I can give to you is to continue to pray (this really works!) and have a positive attitude (as the saying goes: Whatever the mind can conceive, the mind and body can achieve). You already know what's the content of the NPE so more or less, the next time you take the NPE you'll be able to answer it swiftly. If ever they will change the questions in the exam, I know that it isn't going to be over difficult since they are only measuring the basic knowledge a registered nurse should have. I know in God's time you'll also pass the NPE eventually. GodBless...

Nweiz, GAMBUTROL please give me some tips about the panel interview. hehehe. Thank you! =D I'm quite nervous! I hope to get pass it with flying colors. I really hope to see Ma'am Tamse again for the final interview. There are only two instances where I was able to talk to her: 1st, during our orientation for my clinical rotation in PGH during college. 2nd, when I went to her office to get my Minor and Major PRC cases signed by her for the board exam..she even asked me if she looks like a lawyer. ahaha. I hope and pray, the 3rd time I'll be talking to her is during my final interview for staff nurse.

@UbersupeRN: tips on taking the exam? actually, i never had the chnce to finish the exam hahau pure luck but i made sure dat i answered all items thru guessing. im thankful we passed ^^ im scheduled on oct 14 for my panel interview. hope im ready..

any tips about da panel? ;) wat were da questions asked?

I guess you graduated from St. Paul, UP or PLM? I went to one of those three schools as well. I must say that back in my years they were just asking for personal questions during the panel interview. This was the case for nurses who graduated from the above mentioned schools. Some who didn't graduate from those schools were asked different nursing procedures.

These were the questions they have asked me:

1. Area that I want?

2. Why did I took up nursing?

3. What are my plans 5-10 years from now?

Don't worry! It's not hard believe me. :)

Wow! :eek: Schoolmate! :up: I am guessing that you wouldn't have any problem with the interview. Besides, one of the members of the panel was my previous Head Nurse in PGH. He is a PLM graduate as well. He is very strict yet kind at the same time. I know you will do well! I don't know the exact passing rate.

If that's the case, I should be very thankful to our Alma Mater. :eek: I'll prepare for it no matter what. That's a chance of a lifetime! hahaha.. I'll be very happy to share PGH toxicities with you fellow PLMayer.

Batch 2006.. :cool: Toxicities? Be careful what you wish for! hehe.. I wouldn't ask for that if I were you! You wouldn't like it! But if it's toxicity that you're looking for, you came to the right place! ;) :smokin: :uhoh3: I wouldn't see you there because I'm already here in Canada. Some of my batchmates are still their. Don't worry too much!

Yes. I know some of your batchmates there in PGH. One of them helped me. I have even met some of your batchmates when I took the NPE because they took the exam with me... Some people in your batch are working in PLM now. I was a freshman when you were a senior. I know a few people in your batch because your batch had the largest number of graduates. I remembered the tarpaulin in the school's facade when you took your board exam back then. hehehe..

what if im from the province and want to practice or train in PGH ... is there a discrimination because i graduated from province... they say they only accept if you are from UP, UST....???

Their is no discrimination. I assure you that their hiring process is transparent and just. Your board rating would be a plus but won't be the sole determinant. You just have to go through the whole process.
