Peth test turnaround

Hello,

Does anyone know how long it takes for Peth test results? I am not allowed to see my results (BON has it set up this way) and it's been 9-10 days since I tested. I'm assuming no news is good news?

Mine took 7 days.

@StacyLynnRN Thank you. That's what I'm hearing. It's been 10 days, so I'm assuming I'm good! I had a slip about 20 days prior to the test, so my anxiety has been pretty high!

Mine took about about 10 days. My slip up was 4 days before my first peth test. Two months before my 3 year contact would have been done. Needless to say, I got a positive and had to restart contract. Another 3 years. This after spending $850 on a mandatory addiction therapist to determine I didn’t need in patient treatment!

@Knurse1967 that’s really tough.. thank you for your response. I’m scared to do my final check in with my PO (as I call her) as if that will change the outcome LOL.

The amount of money these things cost is ridiculous. In some ways I see why it’s necessary, but there is also a lot of money to be made. At the same time, relapse/slips happen and we shouldn’t be punished for it.

Took about 10-11 days and it was negative!

Great to hear!!

I have had 1-2 beers around every 2-3 days for last 2 weeks with some completely abstinent 2-4days thrown in. Had 1 strong beer yesterday and have to take a PEth test tomorrow. Am I definitely going to fail this thing???? Please help!

Sorry to say but you will most likely not pass. It sucks but you just have to accept whatever they are going to do and move forward.

I just decided to come clean about it and tell them I would test positive. Told my manager at work and my “PO” for the board. Have to just take responsibility and realize that this was nothing like what got me here and be grateful for that. Thank you for responding.

That's exactly what I did too when I had my peth. I was honest and upfront and basically begged them for forgiveness but they didn't care ?‍♀️ license got suspended and I can apply for a termination of suspension after showing 3 months of successful compliance. So im not working and in the mean time still paying ridiculous amounts of money for the tests ? learned my lesson though!

Oh man! That super sucks! I’m sorry. She made it sound like I needed to write a letter to the board and see a “3rd party evaluator” deem me safe for practice then possibly go back to work. I knew that was too good to be true. Hang in there!
