Haven't taken it yet but I will soon. I hear there are those choose all that apply, matching answers, placing steps in correct order type questions. I'm not too optimistic, but I'll be studying the modules again on the areas I don't feel confident about and redoing all the module tests. Let us know how it goes! Goodluck.
Same to you dear....

I took it this past September and my test and fellow classmates' tests were all multiple choice. Definetely go over the modules that you are not as familiar with and read the summaries at the end of each module.
I missed passing by 1 question the first time I took it (got a 78) but the second time I took it I got a 96. It's really not that bad. Just read through each question and think about them. You can skip questions and go back to them and you can also change your answers.

Was it like 100+ questions
Yes, I think it was 114 questions.
Thank you so much

Hello, where did you register for the peri-op 101 test? how much does it cost? how long is this program? I am interested to be an OR nurse. Does this program help you to get into the OR as a new grad? Thank you for any input :)
You can only take Peri-op 101 if you are a) affiliated with a school that will offer the course or b) you are a new OR nurse and your hospital uses it as part of your orientation. I took it as part of my orientation.
It's all online and you complete several modules. I'm not sure how much it costs since the hospital paid for it but I heard its pretty expensive....close to $1000 for the class. Most hospitals that use it have their nurses take it as part of their training so I don't think it will help you get into the OR if you were able to take it elsewhere. I recommend looking for New to the OR residencies/internships at hospitals you would want to work at. Some hospitals are willing to take new grads...others want nurses that have floor experience. Good luck!

I promise you a majority if not all the questions you will get will be lifted directly from the questions in the modules near verbatim. It's easier if you type them up as you go rather than backtracking, but that's what they told my group. We all passed the first time after studying mainly the questions. Good luck!

The questions relate to the information in the modules, but still require thought. The questions ARE NOT taken from the review questions at the end of each module. (you might see a few sprinkled in there, but the majority are not.)
I didn't say just the questions at the end of the module. There are questions throughout the modules which is what we studied from. I took the test just a year and a half ago and that's what the nurses who went through before me told me (everyone in my cohort passed on the first try) and that's what we've passed on. I'm not saying it's a mindless exercise but it definitely helps you narrow and focus among so much information.
