How is the working conditions for nurses in Pensacola Florida? Would anyone recomend moving to Pensacola? We are looking at moving to Florida. Can anyone comment on the salaries in Pensacola area?
Thanks.
I agree with carol. My mom has lived in this house for 14 years, been through 3 major hurricanes in it, and has not had so much as a broken window (thank our lucky stars). My aunt lost her house in 1992 to hurricane Andrew (she lives in Homestead,FL)...luckily she had hurricane insurance and now lives in a better home than she did.
Hurricanes don't bother me. At least you can get out of their way. Now, earthquakes? No thank you. Think I'll take my chances with the 'canes. :chuckle

If you plan well, and build in the right place, there is little danger of having to ever replace one's home.
The problem occurs with overdevelopment and people paying cheap prices, building on former swamp land/waterfront crap land, and building cutsy houses that stand no chance of holding up in a cane'. My family (Floridians for over a century) has gone through any number of hurricanes, some with beach property in Miami, and rarely had so much as broken window. But the niave that build on manmade beachfronts, former swamp land, and put up cheap glass montrosities invariably have them washed away.
