Pensacola/Emerald Coast RN Pay scales?

I am thinking of working either on the Emerald Coast (Fort Walton Beach, Niceville) or Pensacola. I am an ER/ICU nurse with 10+ years of experience plus have my MS in Nursing Admin. Can anyone tell me what the current nursing pay scale (with benefits) are in Pensacola or Fort Walton Beach, FL? Maybe I should take a Travel RN job and possibly get higher pay.

Thanks,

If you'll PM me I will tell you what I know about salaries in the Pensacola area. I moved here 3 years ago from southern CA and am a RN/BSN c 10 years CVICU/MSICU

experience and have worked at two of the local hospitals.

Give me a holler if I can help!:D

Hi! I'm an RN on the PCU at Ft Walton Beach Medical Center, the pay is very bad in this area, the average for starting pay is about 19.00 t0 21.00 an hour. Take my advice and take the travel job!! I plan to do the same in the near future.

So the starting pay in that area is about 19.00 for a new grad?

I'm just a nursing student but I have a friend that just graduated in May (ASN) and passed her NCLEX.. She's working in Crestview Florida (20 miles north of Niceville) at North Okaloosa Medical Center.. She's working PT in Progressive Care and she makes $25/hr w/o insurance.. They told her that if she chose to go full time and get health ins. she would make $16/hr

Hope that helps!

I have lived in pensacola for 4 years and have been a nurse 13 years. the salary's are awful here. I worked at a major trauma center here for over 2 years and made approx 22/hr!!!! I have been a travel nurse for 3 years now and my income has doubled!!

I used to think working for a hospital would mean free health insurance. But the $16 an hour with insurance, do they still deduct from your pay healthcare premiums or not? Thanks.

Hi....thrilled to see this post. I'm looking to return to nursing after taking 3 years off. I have 8 years neonatal experience but would work Peds, or Postpartum/Newborn. What's the pay scale for critical care these days?....and has anyone got figures on local agencies? Can you work as a "traveler" and stay pretty close to home?

thanks!
