Penile implaints

I have had no experience with men with penile implaints. Can a pt with this get a foley catheter if needed? Any precautions should be taken other than making sure it is not inflated.

When I was a senior nursing student I worked as a CNA at a large hospital and I floated to every area. One day I was on the urology floor. We had a guy who had just received an implant. One evening I was going into his room to check his vitals and I could not get the door open. I told the charge nurse and she went with me and we tried to get his door open, knocking on the door, asking if he was OK,etc. He kept yelling to leave him alone. Well, of course we were worried. So we had the maintenance guys come up and they took the door off and we found him in there with a hooker. He was so mad at us. He was yelling "I was trying to find out if this thing was gonna work before I went home with it!!".
