  1. Please write so that other people can read your handwriting.
  2. THanks to everyone who responded.
  3. Had a patient that had one in for years and pt did bleed some after having it taken out.
  4. I have had no experience with men with penile implaints. Can a pt with this get a foley catheter if needed? Any precautions should be taken other than making sure it is not inflated.
  5. I have seen where people where tagged for this for missing a medication. I have been a nurse four years and I have never had this happen.
  6. I was written up at work and the patient passed because an unrealted issue.
  7. Is a medication error considered abuse and neglect? Pt given prn pain medicine in 4 and a half hours rather than 6 hours. This is my first med error and I feel so bad about it. And if so will I be on the OIG list.
  8. I took the position on the tcu. I thought that it would be a good place to start. I will be working nights and they generally have nurses that have been there 5 years plus. I would like to go to peds later on.
  9. First let me tell you a little about myself: LPN for 3 years in LTC, nights just recieved rn I have the option to go on a med-surg floor, nights and maybe get some experience doing that or going on TCU which is a subacute floor. i want to make sure that i have options if i want to change jobs or postions. Most of rn's i know that went to med-surg right after school quit, saying that it was too much. What I would like to do is go to the TCU unit and get a slow paced experience and then try med surg. What do u think?
  10. I was wanting some other opinions, do I need to go into med surg before attempting this, I have worked as a LTC nurse for 3 years and recently recieved my rn. I have the option to go into women's floor (not quite sure what that is) med surg and transitional floor. I am also worried that I will be labled a geiratric nurse. The nurse manager said that I would not have more than 5 pts and the nurse manager on the transitional said that I would have no more than 7 pts. but a friend of mine said that the director over this area is hell on wheels. And also is this anything like rehab, I do know that they work together. thanks.
  11. I was an LPN with only LTC experience. I applied for rehab and med surg, intermediate care, senoir care. I have never worked in a hospital, but I am very eager to learn.
  12. Please toanyone that can answer this question. I am an excelsior grad in AR and I think employers are not as accepting as I would have hoped. One acutally told me to come back after I have 2 years as an RN , this was an entry level position. Can any of you tell me how you delt with this and how did you get clinical reference. Thanks
  13. i know here in arkansas we do not have quick results threw pearson, but you will still get results in 48 hours or less though sbon.
  14. are you considered a new grad if it takes you 6 months to a year after graduating to pass the nclex? There are several new grad interships here, but I graduated last May had to take the nclex 3 times and I have just started looking for employment. Oh and how do you explain this to your interviewer. I just started filing out app on Monday and I am waiting on a call back.
  15. my first questin was a med calculation. i believe that some of those are either on the level or above it, because they do not start you off with a lower level question.
