I took the NCLEX in July. I did not get the "good pop up". The Pearson website took my CC info, and took my payment. So, yes, it did charge my credit card, and I subsequently found out that I did in fact fail.

It is very risking now doing the "trick"...you now have to input all credit card info and hit submit to see if you get the "good" pop or it will charge you... According to ALL those that took the test before me that have gotten the "good" pop up that means you passed... I know one person that didn't get the pop up was charged did not pass.... I took the test on 12/11 8am and was loosing my mind that night... So to ease my nerves the next day I wanted to do the trick... I had to Input everything (card number)... Closed my eyes as I hit the submit button... And BAM the "good" pop up appeared... Sigh of relief... Hopefully all is true about passing if you get the pop up... Now I can enjoy the holidays and wait these miserable 4wks just to get my results since CA doesn't have the quick results and we have snail mail..

Well....not exactly. I'm sorry, but ALL those who have gone before you to report that they passed after getting the 'good pop up' are missing one vital piece of information: the NCLEX is scored twice, and if one reads a 'good' or 'bad' pop up ONLY after the first scoring (right after completion of the exam) it is irrelevant. MOST of the time, it's true that the second score matches the first, in which case the people who played the trick incorrectly (too early) didn't know they didn't do it right, but it didn't matter: they figured "I passed, it worked".

Thing is, the second scoring is completed sometime during the 24 hours following completion of the exam. For those people whose score was "on the fence" and were a 'pass' on the first go-round, playing the trick at that point makes them thrilled they passed.....but then sometimes they get the official results and are shocked they failed. "HOW can this BE??" Because they did not wait until the scores were finalized.

Sometimes it's the other way around: someone plays the trick after the first score is done, gets their credit card charged, and is crushed they failed. Then they find out the official results say they passed....HOW can THIS be?! Well....they lucked out and the second score passed them, but they just donated two hundred non-refundable dollars to Pearson Vue that would have been better spent on repaying student loans---or on some snazzy new scrubs ;)

SO: if you want to play the PVT, or encourage others to try it out, PLEASE for the love of Mike wait at least 24 hours! No point in being humiliated in your fail, crying and worrying, only to pass later....and you don't want to be the person who announced to everyone who would listen that you passed, took a job based on that PVT done an hour after finishing.....and.....oops. Have to turn down that job now :(

It's happened. Don't let it happen to you!

I am anxious and hopeful.. I took my RN Nclex yesterday and within hours of the test I was able to get the 'good' pop up. It is not official and I know that, but it gives me hope. My test shut off at 75 questions. I am hoping to update with information by next week :)

I know a lot of posts have addressed this, but to make it a little more clear to the problem I am having, all of this occurs in step two correct??? Type in credit card info in step one and press next, then step to I got red writing that just said that I still have to submit or confirm my order, and then its once you click "submit order" on step two that you should then see the red triangle above the other red writing??? is that correct? Hope so. Thanks1

That is correct. I say that with caution, though. They may attempt to verify that the card is valid. If you don't put in valid information, you will get a message saying so. If you get this message, there is no way to know if you got the good pop up or bad one. It just means the card isn't good. If you put in valid info, you may get charged. Or, they may just check to see the card is valid and not charge you. It's risky. Your best choice will always be to wait the 48 hours and use quick results. It's the worst wait ever, I know!

Since you know there are many threads addressing this, not sure what the confusion is.

If you don't get charged $200, you probably passed. If you DO get charged $200, you might have failed. Or passed. Guessing game. And the money is non-refundable.

Some tweak the card data so they don't lose money. Ok....and then the pop up means nothing anyway. Card declined, no money lost...bad pop up...maybe you failed. Or not.

Know what's a way better plan? Pay eight bucks total for Quick Results if you can get them in your State, or check your State's BoN website for updates. That doesn't cost a thing ;)

How long did everything take to post on the Georgia board website? I took mine yesterday and I did the PVT today. Im waiting for my quick results tmrw. But just curious IF I by some crazy luck passed, how long before the Georgia Board will list your license or do I have to wait for the mail?

Thank you so much for your response. Us very anxious, new nurses have questions and I personally dont have time to read through the hundreds of posts so I just thought I would try to clarify myself and save some time. I do appreciate your kind response. Thanks again!! Very new to this page so still trying to figure out exactly how to work it, comment, post, all that. Thanks so much.

Wasn't trying to put in false information for CC, just trying to understand.

I didn't stalk your profile to see you're a newbie! Welcome to allnurses! The site is rather large and overwhelming at first. I find the app a lot easier to navigate when I just want to see what's new and whether any threads I've been in have had any new traffic. Desktop has more features, though, so I've been popping in on there from time to time, too.

A very big congratulations on your graduation! Now the REAL learning begins. Have you landed a job yet?
