I just wanted to make a post in hopes that this will come up for potential nurses googling about the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT)
I took my NCLEX in January of 2017, and decided to try the PVT so many people swear by. I did NOT get the good pop up, cried cause well obviously it didn't work so figured I had failed. Nope! I passed.
The Pearson Vue Trick does NOT always work. Don't let it trick you!
This is was my second time taking the NCLEX, I failed the first one. It happens! I just picked myself up and studied some more. Passed it the second time with minimum questions. There is so much online help out there! So good luck to everyone!
I'm trying not to! lol I'm going to check my quick results when they are available in a couple of hours, hopefully good news lol
Will do!! I was just so worried that I had to answer all 205 questions. Guess we'll see

Look at the reply I wrote to you on this thread. You didn't DO the PVT because you didn't submit your payment info, so you can't know what it said. Not that it matters as most people don't believe it either way anyway.
Hey, I did do it correctly, I put in the information and didn't get the good pop up that I was already registered, I know I did it correctly because I failed today.

I'm sorry you failed, truly. But I'm still certain that your experience with PVT isn't that it didn't work, because of your own statement that you got NO pop up message at all! A completed registration submission HAS GOT to get a message of SOME type. Which means that you did not submit all that financial information and then CONFIRM it with pressing that submit button again! You will not find a single person who has done this thing correctly who gets NO MESSAGE, as you are stating. Either you get a 'Card Declined' when you complete the financial submission (and you didn't get that) or you get a "cannot register again, open registration" message (and you didn't get that either).
Which means, simply put, you did not actually (and finally, and correctly) submit the credit card information completely. Just isn't any other way to tell you this. Fact is what it is. That said, in the end for you anyway, it didn't matter. You didn't pay for another test yet (because you didn't finish the registration, again) but when you do, you'll get a receipt for $200.
Personally, I think next time when you test, forget the stupid PVT exists at all, as it does nothing to ease anyone's anxiety and only creates more upset in the end.
did you pass? i took it today and got the good pop up but still so nervous
Idk im still waiting .... i live in cali so apperantly it takes 4 to 6 weeks... i check nurse system and breeze everyday looking for signs....congrats on yours tho!!!
Hi. I took the NCLEX-PN yesterday afternoon in NY. I struggled the entire test and felt almost half of the questions were SATA which is not a strong point for me. My test shut off right at 85 questions and I immediately felt defeated. I truly feel I may have gotten half of those questions wrong and they shut me off thinking I had no chance of redeeming myself. All of my friends tell me they shut off at 85 and passed but I am still not convinced. My quick results will not be available until tomorrow afternoon but I have been doing the PVT trick since 3pm yesterday and keep getting the "good pop up". I feel in my heart that I did not pass the NCLEX so I am just wondering how accurate this PVT trick actually is? I am using a valid cc with all the correct information and I understand I could be charged the $200. I have not been charged yet. Any chance it is just taking longer than usual to let me pay for another registration? Or what are the chances that I am getting the good pop up and still failed?

I'm a little late to this post, but I would just like tell everyone what I did:
First, I took my NCLEX-RN exam TODAY at 8am. It ended after 75 questions and I was done at about 10:05am. I drove home and even though everyone says to wait (at least 4 hours yada, yada, yada), I decided to try the Pearson Vue Trick (PVT) around 10:50am. I went to the website and clicked "Start the Registration Process." I continued through all of the steps. When I got the page that required credit card info, I used an American Express gift card and entered all valid information (it was a $50 gift card but I had already used it and it had a $0 balance.) I then clicked 'next', which took me to the final confirmation page, where I had to click "SUBMIT ORDER." After that step is when I received the "good pop-up" stating "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time."
However, I just took my exam TODAY (at 8am and it is now 3pm-ish) and I have not received anything stating if I have officially passed or failed. Luckily for me, Virginia Board of Nursing processes the scores the next business day and I find out my official results tomorrow.
It's also worth noting that I have tried the trick several times throughout the day (10:50am, 12:45pm, 2:45pm, so far lol) and have gotten the "good pop-up" each time.
Also, using the American Express (or any) gift card prevents me from having the enter my actual credit card information and having to shell out another $200, which isn't something I can afford right at this moment... I found this was the best method and I'm not sure if anyone mentioned earlier in this post or not, but I just wanted to share since a lot of people seemed concerned about being charged the $200 and not having the money for it.
I will update tomorrow on if I actually passed or not! Fingers crossed.
