PDA's

Published

Hi everyone,

I am starting nursing school in January and I was wondering how many students use PDA's. I asked Santa for one but I wanted to see how popular they were on this board. Do you find that you use the PDA all the time or is it something that sits in the drawer (SP?) I know some students use them for pharmacology but what else do you use them for?

Anyway, just curious to see how new students use technology to help them in their studies.

ROFL :roll

Believe me, if I could take a trip right now I would.

I have a dear friend in NC that I was supposed to fly down and visit b/w the holidays but because of the nutso schedule around here, that is not going to happen this year.

My one sister in CA is also been begging me to come out and spend some time with her, hubby, new baby and yeah that too isn't going to happen too soon either.

I have to save my vacation days as I will have to travel to school twice in 2004 for validation so I need to watch my days.

Someday, when I grow up and I finish school, I will have some time to do something FUN!!!

Thanks again for the generous offer with the ice village that came over the weekend, the heated pool sounds wonderful even to someone like me who really detests summer!

If ya'll are going to florida, I wanna come. Ahh, a heated pool and sunny days. I have never had a cosmopolitan, is that some kind of martini? Thinking of Florida brings back a lot of memories for me. I lived in Florida for seven years.

Don't know what I was thinking when we moved back north. Actually it was becasue we missed our families. I definitely feel the urge to go south again. Hate the cold.

I can't imagine having a heated pool to swim in the winter months. Must be lovely.

Palm Beach Community College in south Florida. You? I LOVE Philly, and would love to live there someday, even though the weather here now is what makes it so great to be where we are.

Hey there,

The bus leaves promptly at 8:00 so be ready!!

Now quit yer whining about the cold. You knew what you were getting into when you decided to move here so zip it!!!

Anyway can you tell I'm not getting much work done today? After the hell weekend in this house I need some goofin off time anyway.

Call today if you want I still want to hear the "Saga"

Oh m'god. Shake together 2 oz. top shelf vodka, 1 oz Grand Marnier, 1 oz cranberry juice, and a splash of lime. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with lime peel. Sit down and proceed slowly.

Deaconess College of Nursing in St. Louis but I am doing the web based program here in PA.

Philly is not one of the places I would put on my Love list but it has some wonderful schools and cultural events.

I personally want to head west when all the ducks leave the nest and school is finished and hubby agrees! (of course the first two will happen at will, the last will take some serious convincing).

How far along are you in the program?

I just want something in a martini glass!!! It can be 7-up for all I care.

Call it a mid-life crisis but I am sure starting to be interested in some strange things. Good thing I'm not into furs and flashy cars huh!:roll

And the lime peel, now wouldn't that be just ducky with 7-up!

You can take the girl off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the girl!!!!:D

You know Cisco then, I presume?

What is with this migration from IT work to Nursing? I've noticed several posts on this board from people who have made the same jump. What's the dealio?

Anyone else-

What is Epocrates? What part of Nursing would it help me in? I'm pretty well sold on software from SkyScape. Right off of the bat I found Taber's Medical Dictionary and Davis' Drug Guide for Nurses - two textbooks I'm required to buy. I have no problem with change (especially since I'm not actually in the field yet).

SHIVERING...you had to mention that!

Refer to previous question about Cisco. I don't know about others, but for me it came down to the freshness of studying something completely different than technology. I didn't know, for example, I would LOVE anatomy.

As a hospice nurse, I use my PDA quite often to look up meds with epocrates----also they are great for storing phone numbers for hospitals, doctors, nursing homes, pharmacies, funeral homes etc. There are several of us that have them and use them at work. The most popular model is the Tungston T.

I have a Palm Pilot m130 and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to install ePocrates onto my memory card instead of the unit itself? I can't seem to figure it out. The way my handheld works is first I download the program onto my desktop computer and put it into a folder called "Add-On". Then, I go to the Palm desktop and chose the program I wish to install onto my PDA. But there are no options there as to WHERE on the PDA I wish to install it. It just automatically puts into my built in memory. And since ePocrates takes up so much room, I would really like for it to be on my memory card, which holds 256mb. And once it's on my PDA, it won't let me copy it over to my memory card like other programs will. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
