I am a GN in the ER. I am looking for recommendations on PDA software to ease my work day. I still have trouble with documentation, so that is a focus. Thank you all in advance for your help. There so many beautiful, talented, and kind nurses in the world it is an honor to be among you.

They frequently update the material and their software. The program on your PDA stops working when the subscription expires, apparently. That is a disadvantage. If you don't mind a monochrome display, the product is excellent--especially the integration of dosage calculators and such. They abbreviate a lot of terms. And it is fast. :) No bells and whistles. Not much graphical information. If you want to deal with the authors only one time, you may want to consider other software. PEPID is more like a service contract.

It is only as hectic/crazy as you make it. It only takes 30 seconds to look something up on a Palm device.

Well thanks everyone for your input, I am thinking of purchasing a PDA....It is a bit overwhelming, being new to this software. But the more I read the more I want one lol. I'm a graduate nurse, what should I start with, any ideas.

Me what I use mostly are the Davis Drug Guide and Tabers.

hi... i use pepid portable healthcare and am very happy with it.. check it out... i have the rn suite... they have critical care, oncology, and one of the er docs that i work with bought the emergency physician suite... she used to have epocrates but is much happier with pepid...they have great tech support... good luck
