just an f.y.i. i wouldnt divulge in to what you make, in to too much detail, some companies/hospitals have policies that you should not discuss what you get paid, and depending on the place it can lead to termination, hence you have your photo as your avatar so they would know its you. so i would check in to that.. its easy enough to just google what certain hospitals pay in certain states and get a rough estimate. theres different crtieria for pay scales. but kudos for getting paid well!
I worked in an ER as a patient care tech. I made 12.50ish an hour (some random number like a 4 or a 6). Then I went to become a unit clerk and I made about 12.60ish which went up to 12.9ish an hour. Then when I work my medic shifts, I make 16.50ish an hour. Each shift I get an extra dollar an hour and weekends I get an extra 50 cents per hour. Holidays I get double time. Roughly, I work about 32 to 48 hours a week depending on how much I feel like working. Usually I get 36 hours a week scheduled.
I am located in the midwest so our cost of living is low. In average, a family household makes about 30,000 dollars where I grew up.
You also have to look at the cost of living. I think our hospital overpays the people too so I don't know if the formula is coming from a different part of the state or what. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if they just pull numbers out of a hat sometimes because some pcts make less than what others do in the same area.

I would be careful telling so much personal info in the Internet. It can follow you professionally. Especially with a picture. But congrats with the pay. I am in it for the experience. I work prn on a Nero floor.

I thought I would start a thread to see what departments PCTs/PCA work on. If you want to include you state and your salary so others can get an idea that would be helpful to others
I work on an infant and children's unit part time (2 nights a week 7p-7:30a) in Springfield, Massachusetts. My base pay is $16.50 an hour. From 7p-11p I make 10% for my differential which is $18.15. Then from 11p-7a I get 20% differential which is $19.80. Now that is for week days. On weekends 7p-11p I get $20.15 and 11p-7a I get $21.80. If it's a holiday it's time and a half base pay is $24.75. I won't get into too much more. But I love my unit and my pay. Can't wait until I'm an RN (start fall 2013).
