Hi this is a general thread for this years nursing applications for the schools above in Portland,OR and surrounding areas for the FALL 2019/ WINTER 2020 Cohorts.

I will also not be moving on to phase 2 for PCC... still waiting to hear form MHCC!

I did not get invited to the essay for PCC also. I was really hopeful for PCC because I took all my prerequisites there. I am still waiting on MHCC and CCC. Anyone here invited to OHSU April 19th interview, let me know because that's the day I interview.

It didn’t surprise me that PCC did not invite me for the essay. Even though I did take all my prerequisites from them they would not give me full points for my job, which would have made me competitive. However, I will be interviewing at OHSU on April 18.

Yes, I took it couple of days ago and didn't make it. I want to say my overall points for Chemeketa CC is 297.

The amazing part was that last year I got to phase 2, and was even offered an a place as an alternate! :0

Hey I recognize you from last year's forum! I too am in the same boat as you. Made it to phase 2 last yr and got alternate, but outright rejected this year. Where did all these hyper-competitive people show up from overnight? I feel burned after working so hard for the 4.0gpa and CNA certificate. :(

Is anyone willing to share what score they applied with for the PCC 2019? Just curious what is considered competitive now...

I got 59/70 and rejected on phase 1.

Denied from PCC ?

I moved into phase 2 at OHSU and UCC though. Everyone who got an invite to a PCC should be VERY proud. This year was probably their most competitive year

I got an invite to PCC! Pretty excited! Anyone done the essays before so I know what to expect????

Me too! I'd love to get an idea what the essay prompts are for this round. Super excited to get through this rigorous time!!

I have 63.84/70 for my invite,

Keep in mind that the maximum amount that you can possibly get without being a veteran is a 66, at least according to the advisor I spoke with last winter term.

I would Probably guess that there are a ton of people with both high gpa and high work experience hours.

Don't be discouraged! I got invited to PCC but not, apparently, OHSU, and everyone I've heard from is saying that this is one of the most competitive years for PCC. One of the advisors I spoke to months ago said they've seen scores as low as 48/70 get accepted in previous years. Just because it is competitive this year does not mean that it will stay competitive.
