Hi...I know there's a FB page but, I figured why not stay on Allnurses the OG forum for nurses lol...In any rate..I'm applying to the Part time program and will be going to the info session this Thursday. Really nervous and dont know what to expect about being accepted...Any other hopefuls?

Hey, at the beginning of this thread I was planning on applying to the LPN program, too, if I don't make it into the RN program. I changed my mind and I have decided to apply to the CNA program for the 1 point.

Is the requirements the same as the nursing program to get into the LPN program. Also isn't it harder to get into the nursing program if you are an LPN first since they only accept 20 people from the LPN program which you have to be in for year first. Just wondering I could be completely wrong. Also Is there a CNA program at PBSC and when is the cut off to apply to that program, how long does it take, and are you saying if we get a CNA license we can get an extra point on the nursing program application. sorry for all the questions you guys just have really good ideas that did not cross my mind at all.

They do offer a CNA program. It is a little easier to get in. It's on the website. Idk if it is harder to get into the RN program if your in the LPN program. I was just thinking of ways to get more points, and I thought about the CNA license. I posted my idea on here to help someone out because I didn't think of it until I really started thinking!

okay so I did some research the CNA license will give you one extra point on the nursing application and you complete it in 3 and a half months the deadline is November 15, it starts in january and ends just before you have to apply to the RN program before June 1st.

Yup. I already attended the information online, and rec' d my packet. I am just waiting to see if I get in the RN program before completing my application!

I am so nervous to not get into this program I feel like if I do I will be making the cut off score. I only have a 22.05.. Sooo if I do not get in I am going to be taking that advice for sure and get my CNA certificate to get that extra point and I am also taking that Critical thinking in nursing class which will give me another point so then it will be 24 points.. and then I will feel more comfortable with my score..

I agree. If you don't make it in this go around you definitely will with 24 points!

I have a story to tell.

So, this morning I went to the gym while working out (breathing hard) my phone rung. I answered the phone, and it was a lady from nursing admission. She said, "I just sent you a denial letter. Disregard letter it." I was on my on my headset so she had to repeat herself several times, until I took it off. I read the email she sent, and the cutoff is 22.03.

For Lake worth full time ???? Please tell me you're not joking

True story, hun

Belle Glade. Lake Worth got too much competition, and "I don't got time for that!" I wanted to add cutoff is 22.23
