PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

U.S.A. Florida

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

Congrats to those accepted. I'm a May 2014 graduate. Pbsc is a tough program so be prepared!! Best part is that I feel that I was well prepared for my nclex. I found a job quickly and it seems pbsc students are favored for hire :-). I have books and uniforms (xs) that I'm selling if interested. Again, congratulations and good luck!!

Any tips to help us survive 1st semester? Roadblocks to look out for? Congrats on your nclex and job.

My tip is to get the hesi book for your hesi exams AND to practice doing nclex style questions for EVERY test. The tests are not like tests you've had in the past. I wish I had started doing questions in first semester. I started second semester and it helped get me in the right mind frame for testing. It also helped me with nclex. I was able to take my nclex 3 weeks after graduation because I had been doing questions since second semester. It helps for school exams and for your long term goal of passing he nclex :-)

Which HESI book? I have the one for the entrance exam.

Hey Nadroujj, I'm interested in purchasing books. How can I contact you for more info?

There's one that covers everything- from fundamentals to OB. It will be useful for all hesi tests you take from beginning of school to end.

I sent you a message!

Anyone know if pharmacology has opened up yet for registration? I haven't checked in a few weeks, and when I looked today, nothing showed up...so I just don't know if that means it isn't open yet or if it is all full. Hoping to take it in the spring to get it out of the way (applying for Fall 2015). Thanks!

They are all filled up. Keep watching in case someone drops.

Hi! 😁 My name is Kristina. I just read your post that said you took the Hesi without studying and took it beige taking micro? Is that right? If so, I'm kinda in the same boat. I have all of my pre reqs except micro and statistics which I am taking this summer. I've been studying for the Hesi several times a week. But I'm nervous about the biology section since It's been years since biology in high school and I haven't taken micro yet. My plan is to take the Hesi in May and again in July. Any advice or feedback about the biology section of the Hesi?

I appreciate your help!

Hi I'm currently taking my pre requisite classes and hope to apply next year for the LW nursing program. I'm a little confused about the point system. Can someone explain?!

Please and thank you! Also any advice would be greatly appreciated!

so far I've taken enc1101, psych, art appreciation, a+p 1 and the lab.

This fall I'm taking microbiology with lab, statistics, and human growth and development.

I was in the same boat. There is no microbiology on the test. It is basic biology. Took the Hesi my first time when I was still taking AP & Chem.
