Infusion RN for new grad with lots of IV experience prior to RN school
Hi there! I know this post is old. I'm a new grad with some office experience starting venipuncutures, IVs, and injections. I have an interview as a Home infusion nurse. Does anyone have any advice feedback on new grads starting out with infusion nursing? I love patient care and prefer 1:1. That is why I am interested but above all I want to be safe. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks 😊

Hey there! I was told to not rush through it and to do the longer sessions first like math and reading. You're going to do great!

Sweet! The lowest accepted last cycle was 23.11 so you have a good shot! I recommend speaking with Latisha Myrick. She's the advisor. She may be really busy but when I spoke with her one on one she answered all of my questions, calmed my worries, and gave me all of the facts. Congrats on completing the hesi! Don't it feel good! ;-)

Its basic chemistry. So just make sure to stay calm, and do not rush yourself! I rushed through the hesi and still had time left over. I took the reading section first because it's long. You will do great!

Hey there! The person with the lowest points last cycle had 23.11 I believe. So you can take the hesi and go to the info session on Sept 23. But remember the deadline is Oct 1. So just make sure you study for the hesi, have all pre reqs, and attend info session. The RN advisor says that critical thinking is not required for acceptance but it is recommended if your hesi score is too low. But it does give you an extra point and helps you build a strong nursing foundation. Hope this helps! Best wishes!

PBSC Fall 2015 Nursing
UPDATE! FYI! The fall 2015 points of students accepted were... 24.43 average 23.11 lowest points accepted Also, if any of you have questions about the hesi lmk! I just took my 2nd attempt today. I got an 88, which isn't bad. But I know how it feels to worry about the unknown and I'd be glad to answer any hesi related questions. Best wishes! kristina

PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing
@cgambino70 Hi! My name is Kristina. I just read your post that said you took the Hesi without studying and took it beige taking micro? Is that right? If so, I'm kinda in the same boat. I have all of my pre reqs except micro and statistics which I am taking this summer. I've been studying for the Hesi several times a week. But I'm nervous about the biology section since It's been years since biology in high school and I haven't taken micro yet. My plan is to take the Hesi in May and again in July. Any advice or feedback about the biology section of the Hesi? I appreciate your help! kristina

PBSC Fall 2015 Nursing
Hi ilavarachi, :) How did you study for the Hesi? Did you use the book by Elsevier? I'd like to know because I recently began studying for the Hesi but I just started chem and A&P 2 today (new semester). I've read online that other students have taken the Hesi without necessarily having all of their pre reqs done, and have scored well. My plan is to submit an application by this June to start fall 2015 (that is if I am accepted and if they'll still accept my nutrition credit). Thank you for your help Ktinamac :)
