PBSC Spring 2015 Nursing

U.S.A. Florida

I created this thread for those applying to Spring 2015 LW Nursing. I am a returning student starting a second career. I have 4 prerequisites left that I am taking this summer. I also am taking the Critical Thinking class for a point. I took the Hesi last week to see how I would do and got an 85. I will have about 27 points for my app so not sure if I will take Hesi again. Good luck everyone.

I just want to get thru this summer and get my app in. I am lucky because two people that I had AP1 and 2 with are taking micro online with me so we can study. If you know anyone else applying in October, have them check out this thread. We want to get more people involved. Once we get accepted, notice the positive thoughts, we will start a Facebook page.

i'll chime in,

applying in october for the part time program. at this point, should have around 28 points. if i retake the hesi this summer and get full 10, then i'll be around 30.

summer classes: criticial thinking (online), a&p 2 (online), a&p2 lab.

i'm doing micro online right now and it's not that hard. pretty easy to get an A. lab for micro on the other hand, is a little more difficult.

I'm taking micro online but critical thinking is a hybrid. Not sure what to expect from that class. I am going to take the Hesi st least one more time to get the full 10 points and I will have 29 points. Think that is pretty safe bet to get in. This spring the cutoff was just over 25 but now the Hesi can be taken every 60 days so I'm sure people will take it multiple times. I'm taking Rudayeva for lab and everyone rates her very well. Good luck on the pt program. I know they only take 24 but if you have close to 30 pts that should be good.

I haven't taken the hesi yet & plan to after I take finals next week. Would you say that the study workbook for the hesi covered just about all that's on the actual exam? I want to get the full 10 so I don't have to re take! :)

Absolutely for all the sections except science. I have gotten all As in Chem and AP classes but only got 80% on science part. Study your book and previous notes. Science sections were the hardest. A lot more in depth than the study guide. I only got 8 on my hesi so I am planning to study for next one. If I get the full 10 I will have 29 pts which should get me in.

I think anything 27+ is a good number to aim for. I'm hoping I nail the hesi the first time , if not I'll probably take it until I do. Lol. What was the cost to take it?

45 each time. I took it in march so I can take it in may again.

If anyone is interested, there were openings for critical thinking in the summer session. Good way to get an extra point towards nursing program. They always fill up fast so not sure how long it will be there. NUR1024.

Nevermind. It's gone already. I got lucky and got one on first day of registration but they were all gone in an a few hours.

I've been checking and no open slots!

Keep checking. They pop up when people drop. It was there for about an hour.

The professor for my section of critical thinking sent out an email last week saying don't bother if you can't dedicate at least 3 hours a day to studying. Think it was a scare tactic to get people to drop if they're not serious.
