PBSC Spring 2012 hopefuls

Published

Hi everybody (well at least everyone that reads this :))

I just wanted to see if there's anyone out there looking to start this Spring?

I am doing pharm in person. But if you plan on moving on to your bachelors do 2140

Congrats to everyone that got in! I go to FAU and I want to go to PBSC for nursing. I keep seeing a "points system," but I don't know how much points go to what and how to get points other than grades. I have B's in almost all my pre-reqs :/ Do you think I can still try to get in for Fall 2012? Thank you so much everyone and goodluck in the spring 2012 program!

the pbsc nursing will be having an information session nov 9, if you havent attended an information session, do it, its a great way of getting information and talking directly to the pre-nursing and nursing advisors:)

side note: try to score high on the hesi( need a study packet, i can help you with that :)

Hey MzPinkDior I left my email a couple of pages back, did you get it?

Hey Irishblonde, Im in the same situation as you except I have my bachelors already. If you would like to go to the information session together next week and start studying together I'm up for it!!

you have mail!!

is anyone taking pharm online? if so, which one did you choose (2140 or 1141)

i registered for 1141 online. did something change - at the march info session i went to, they said 2140 can't be used as a university-level pharm, only if pbsc began a bsn program?

there's a chance i might switch to 2140, though..... i'd like to be as thorough as possible, but don't want to overextend myself...

Thank you so much MzPinkDior! xoxo

I thought at the info session they said the pharm 2140 would be required if you wanted to get your bachelor. Maybe I misheard them. Either way I'm taking 2140 because I'm better learning in person/hearing lectures.

Irishblonde: I would definitely recommend studying hard for the HESI, the anatomy section I found to be very difficult. The point system will be explained in detail. If you can take the HESI soon I recommend doing that because then you may be able to take it twice before the June 1 application deadline (you can only take it once every six months at PBSC). Also have you had a job in a medical field? Or volunteered? If you do something for at least three consecutive months and 100 hours it will get you a point. One point, even half a point can make a huge difference in getting in or not getting in. Good luck! I hope in June we are congratulating you on your acceptance into the program. Work hard but also enjoy this time while you can. :)

So, I got my flu shot today. I went to MDNow in Royal Palm Beach and asked how much it would be for a physical there and the Tdap shot. 75 for the physical. 65 for the shot. I don't currently have a PCP, but I do have insurance. Does anyone have any advice of where I could get those done for cheaper?
