Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of study for the nurse Procalc and the NLN entrance exam for PBCC fall nursing program.
I read on line that this school works on a point system
I was wondering if anyone who has been accepted to the program
(past/Present) student: HOW MANY POINTS DID YOU HAVE TO
WHEN ACCEPTED TO THE PROGRAM.
Anyone with info about the program, would be helpful.
Thanks
to those of you who were denied: do not give up and lose hope. for fall 08, the cutoff was 25.xx. i can't remember exactly what it was; i had 27.99 points and knew that it was going to be pretty much a sure thing. some of my friends were really close to the cutoff and some of them didn't make it and were denied. of those that were denied, 3 out of 4 got in anyways. as competitive as the program is, some people have unforeseen issues that require them to turn down their spot. some people apply to pbcc as a backup and turn down their spot if they made it into their first choice. one of the people that made it in after being denied got in two weeks before the semester started. so don't give up hope, especially if you are within 1 point or so of the cutoff.
told ya so =)
congratulations!
SOOOO..I'm back =) call it miracle or not but after being denied I received a phone call Friday morning giving me the opportunity to fill in someone's spot in the program!!!! I'm super excited and cannot believe it! I'm way behind with everything since I just received my packet and all the information. Looks like a lengthy process but starting Monday morning I'm off to do all the things that need to be done... For all you guys that have already turned in the packet any advice or suggestions?? Anything would be helpful, I have such little time and so much to do. Thanks in advance =)
I haven't been on here in a while so a big congrats on getting in!!! I can't wait to hopefully get a chance to meet everyone. Hope all is going well getting your stuff finished in such a short time. Again, congrats:roll
mommiluvsadrian, congrats!!!!! how exciting for you!!!!!!
i have a question...i have a pretty colorful watch. but i think it would be perfect for the program since it is waterproof and it has a digital secondhand. is any watch ok? i just don't know how strict they are about that.
thanks guys!!
Well, I've made it through pharmacology thus far. Let me tell you, it is NOT easy. I have 4-year university degree as well as an associates degree and it is quite possibly the most amount of studying I have ever done.
Word to the wise: If you do not study, you will fail.
Our final is tomorrow and consists of a test over 8 chapters combined with a cumulative final. Total of 100 questions. Looking over the masses of material we've covered, I've never felt so unprepared for an exam in my entire life...and that's with A's and B's on all the exams:(.
This has not been fun. The only thing worse could be getting less than a 75 on the final... which because of the grading method would amount to having to take the course over.
Like you, I have my Bachelors degree also and I can agree with you on Pharm: this is the most challenging class I have ever taken. Either way (75+ or -) at least it will be over today. I'm sure we will be o.k. and won't have to repeat this monster. Good Luck to all and enjoy our short break!

Thanks!
I'm so excited...It felt so unreal receiving that phone call ...H2O, do you think a pair of all white nike dunks would be acceptable? It said no symbols, but the symbol is white so it shouldn't be a problem, right? Just want to be sure before I go and purchase them.
