Paying for school....

Published

I don't understand, my husband and I don't make very much money, sometimes barley enough to get by! i didn't get enough to cover school and have already taken out two loans and still don't have enough! anyone have any ideas on grants or anything? I am stressing out, i got into the lvn program and am suppose to start in November and just found out i will be short on tuition! please any advice would be great

Ginny,

Everyone is feeling the squeeze right now. You are very lucky to have a supportive parent like your dad. I am sure in his eyes he sees it as an investment in your future. No need to feel guilty, just kick some booty in school!!

Well, actually today he said he'll pay for my tuition this month, but I'm going to have to find a job soon or I'll have to drop out which is totally unfair because my parents are helping my precious brother who's younger than me pay for university which is a lot more expensive than my program.

I have now exhausted what seems to be every option.....I am due to start in november and its looking like it might not happen. Does anyone know if it is possible to get state assistance if I am brand new to the state? I have never been employed here in cali so I don't think it will be possible. Errrrg i talked to financial aid office and they were no help either....i really just want to pull my hair out. Sorry about the depressing post...this is so discouraging!

I am to begin the LVN program at UEI in Southern California Nov. 2nd. I am having a very difficult time with the financial end of it. Have had some really back luck with the economy these past 2 years and am attempting to get back on my feet. I currently am taking care of 3 disabled family members and am not getting wages. I do have my husbands meager disability check and my retirement check, but they are a far cry from what I need. I guess what I am asking is #1 Has anyone any information on UEI and #2 What scholarship programs accept a school that is not a 2 or 4 year college?

Help.

Thankx
